gimme10mins

Hello everyone. My baby will be a whole year old soon and I was just wondering how she measures up in others eyes. I think she is the most beautiful dog. I just want to get some more experienced point of views on my girl. Im just wondering her physical strengths and weakness and what needs to be improved upon. Please forgive the photography. Thanks everyone.

I''m sure she's a very beautiful dog but those pictures do not do her justice.  You need to get on the ground and get a level picture of the dog, not something from above in order for us to truly see her beauty as you do.

Nice Head I think she will produce some nice masculine headed boys. I don't know anything about breeding really but thats what I think.

she does have a really strong head for a female, I love strong-headed females :).  Nice black mask, and black saddle - she's "east west" (toed out) in front, but that could correct itself when her chest develops (gets wider).  Her lower chest will also drop more when she matures.  She will also hopefully grow into her huge ears!  She has a short steep croup, is somewhat "stretched" or long in the back, but her topline looks ok.  Taking a picture from her shoulder level will help a lot in making her look in proportion - taking pictures from above make her look longer, legs shorter than she probably really is.  Nice looking dog though, with good expression.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I really appreciate them. She does have a very nice head. Thats the reason I picked her out from the photos. Here head most resembled her sire. i will try to take a better photo from shoulder level but i may have to get help. Her ears are very large and have been all her life. Here is a pic of her at 6 mos. And if anyone is interested here is a link to her pedigree. http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/480324.html

Beautiful dog and fantastic pedigree.

I like the big ears personally she will grow into them, and they will fit her beautiful strong head better thanlittle ears would!

When you stack her, make sure you bring the hind leg (nearest the camera) back far enough so that the lower leg from the hock to the ground is perfectly straight up and down.  The other leg should be in a relaxed flexed position, with the toes onder the forward point of the hip.  And set her front legs apart a little so they are neither too far under her, nor too far out to the sides.  Your 6-month pic is better than the 1-yr pic.  But I think she'll be a very nice bitch..  nice topline, neck laying in nicely and looks to have good layback of the shoulder.  Hard to really judge without seeing movment, but she is built nicely.

Thanks so much for the good help on stacking. The onl problem is she won't stay still.  She will let me move her legs for a second then she will just move them how she feels most comfortable. The first pic she did that all by herself because she saw another dog. Do you all think she will keep the dark mask and the solid black saddle as she gets older?

Also do you all think her coat is too short? I know its the summer but even in the winter her coat isn't too much longer than it is now
