Sunsilver

by Sunsilver on 29 July 2007 - 04:07

The picture does not do her justice, Kiserhoff. I would give her a good brushing to get rid of all that loose hair, then try to get another one with better light. Make sure the dog's body is facing towards the sun, rather than away when taking a picture outdoors.

She looks like an American bred, right?  She's a bit overweight (or maybe it's just all that hair!) which makes her front legs look spindly. It looks like her right hock is resting on the ground, which I usually take as a sign a dog is overangulated.  She looks like she has a dip in the middle of her back, but again, that could be just poor lighting. The photo makes her look like someone's frumpy, overweight backyard pet.

What are they asking for her?

What's her temperment like? What are her bloodlines? Do they have the papers to show you?

Kiserhoff,

What are your goals as a breeder??

I know that pictures do not always "fairly" represent objects/animals/people..etc... HOWEVER;....a breeder should always try to buy & use the BEST representations of the breed, that they intend to promote......this female, in my opinion......is not of that standard.

I think that there are several excellent, educated, ethical breeders on this board, that could help put you on a "respectable" path........ask for their help BEFORE you jump the gun.

Lots of luck to you,

She was in the show ring last year. She has been brushed since then I should try to get them to let me take a pic now.

She has a very plushy coat.VERY!

They were asking $800. for her. But I am not into breeding american now that I have been talking with you all.

The lady feeds Hi-standard performance formula. 26%20%

Is that to much protein...

I have been feeding Pro Kennel.

She is a Ch. I don't think I am going to buy her I know I won't but I do have another pic to share .

she is black/tan.  Looks washed-out but it is probably due to the sun glare washing the photo out (make sure the sun is behind you when you take pictures) - or it could be due to all of her coat falling out - the dead hair is most likely whitish in color.  She is overweight, out of condition, has a dip in her back that could be due to either or both of those factors, or it might be her conformation (hope not).  She is WAYYYYYYYY overangulated, and her being over-stacked doesn't help.  Looks like her leg is broken, and looks like she is having trouble even standing there.   Light bone structure, pointy head, stressed-out look with ears back - certainly not looking very strong or confident in her expression.

ps black/silver is NOT considered good  pigment - you can only find black/silver in American lines, and I believe the silver comes directly from white gene - breed a black/tan to a white and you can get black/silver.  Breed a black/silver to white or another white-factor dog and get white.  So, unless you are interested in breeding soft, weak, poorly structured, over-angulated, poorly pigmented, light boned dogs, this one is probably not worth the price they are asking, whatever the price is (I personally wouldn't pay a cent).

In this picture she does not carry herself well, her ear span is not very desirable and maybe  something  put her in a submissive state when the camera snapped....

I think that someone one this board can find you a good female...Try shelly Strohl,,,,I tend to think , though , you lean  toward the show  line....

I cant't help in that .

I don't like her in any aspect. Not representative of anything I would want to reproduce...no matter wht her pedigree is....American line probably over 50%.... yes she looks washed out Kiser   your getting good...at your own critiquing....
