If you could build yourself your "dream dog" what would it be?
Show or Working?
Color, Size, M/F?
What type of drives?
Who would his/her parents be?
For what purpose...sport, pet, SAR, police, pp...???
How much would you be willing to pay?
I thought this might make for some interesting dreaming....lol

Working, dark Black sable, high prey , high toy , high food, male, large head , large bone , medium range,
For protection, sport and to ride in a corvette convertible, with the top down... I like K9sars dog....whoever his parents are...forgot to look...

Working, Black or Bi colored, Big head, Big boned, Broad Chest, rock solid nerves, stable and well balanced but a tad civil (not too much), great with kids, has excellent house manners and follows the "house rules", for protection and since we're "dreaming"...
Will cook and clean, cart the kids around to activities, have coffe ready in the AM with the paper in hand and will change an ocassional diaper now and again. Is that too much to ask? BTW, if anyone can find me this dog...money's no object. lol

I have heard GSD's are good at babysitting, and removing soiled diapers, but draw the line at putting clean ones on. If only they had opposable thumbs, I'm sure they could be taught to do that, too!!
LOL!

Sunsilver- my husband jokes with my sometimes and says "let's go have a drink" and I'll think he's serious and get excited he's gonna take me out so I'll say "ok when?" "I'll call to ask the babysitter if she's available" and then he says "screw the babysitter, she costs too much, Agar will watch the kids let's go". I don't fall for this anymore I already know the drill. lol

I don't have to build one, I just look in my back yard. She's perfect for me!

Bi-color: Black and Rust
Large masculine male, or large boyish female,
Nice pronounced arch to the neck, solid tight feet, nearly level strong back back
Substantial bone, clean perfect joints
Life-span: 30 years (this is a dream dog, right)
Drive: 2 year old's bouncy, adolecent drive, but quickly and easilly calmed by the lightest touch of my hand or whispered command
Nerves of steel
Absolutely fit, no health concerns
The iron stomach and efficient digestive system of a Northern Breed

Oh and price - for a dog like I described that would live 30 years, I'd be willing to pay up to $10,000

Huge, large boned blanket black, very doggie female, big head, mixture of W. German show and working lines, lines to Quanto. Level back. Nerves of steel, clear headed, completely trustworthy with kids and other animals. Low prey drive, medium play drive. Civil with strangers when needed (like someone breaking into your home or property), otherwise accepting but not overly friendly. Very affectionate and plugged into own family. That is what my first two Shepherds were - and the way we baby boomers remember Shepherds USED to be, but I can't find that anymore no matter how hard I look.
