Question, I have been for a very long time now trying to find a way to make sure that EACH individual dog gets they're equal amt. of supplements and vitamins. Well needless to say it's been a ROYAL hassle, We don't feed individually we free feed dry kibble of Solid Gold Hundenflocken Puppy to ALL of our dogs, (yes this includes the adults) But we also add Vitamins, Minerals, and other supplements, in doing so I've tried just about everything to make sure each gets they're "Fair" share. Some ideas are entirely too messy and time consuming, others have just NOT worked out at all, and resulted in one or two dogs getting all of the supplements....
OK to the ???? I have found a way to mix the supplements with eggs and goat milk, and then cook them into equal proportions to then distribute in much less messy form, HOWEVER I am wondering what I might be LOOSING by cooking the supplements and vitamins ???
Any thoughts....

Hi Echo,May i ask why you wood be adding vit-min's to an already balanced food? You do know that they make allowances for what is lost in processing kibble and then replace the certain vit0-min.As far as stuff like glucosamine, omega 3, digestive enzymes etc,I would most certainly add those as you are preping the individual dishes. The only thing that i dont like about that food is that i could not get a proper answer as far as the urine ph that the food promotes and then they tried to sell me there supplement for acidifying urine. Also ,may i ask why it is that you are feeding the adults the large breed puppy food?If you are concerned about it being not enough meat base OR you want more calories why not add SMALL amounts of meat?(make sure you dont throw the calcium-phosphorous amounts off with TOO MUCH meat) OR can food.Anyway to answer your question,YES anytime you cook something (denature),you will always change it especially things like vit-min"s.Hope that helps answer your question. Also PLEASE note that NONE of what i said is to in anyway insult or offend you and what you are trying to do in bettering your dogs health.Take care Domenic

Domenic... no food is complete and balanced for every dog in every meal, do not kid yourself.. all dogs need supplements no matter what they are fed.. just like we do!
There isn't enough EFA in a commercial food ever......

Echo I would say if your adding the supplements then cooking you most likely are loosing nutrients. If possible cool the milk and egg first before adding them.

Domenic, Thank You for your thoughts, I appreciate you taking the time to write them out. We feed the Puppy because it's the only blend of Solid Gold that has the higher protein level available for us here. And they are all doing excellent on it.
Dkiah, Trailrider, Thank You both as well.
I kinda suspected I was going to be loosing something in the cooking process. But figured it's worth asking about.... Bummer.
