animules

by animules on 25 July 2007 - 02:07

My house cat who insists his mine, The one I can trim toenails on easier then any dog, the one who trains our puppies NOT to chase cats, the one who chases our big Abram off the bed, the one that was born in this house with us and is now 11-years old.  Ned is at the vets and it doesn't look good.  The vet is thinking strong chance of renal failure.    God I hope not, he's my bratty little Ned who keeps the rest in line.

I'm very sorry to hear that animules. I lost my little black cat to a car in April, so I sympathize.

He was the one who ran upstairs ahead of me every night after my husband died from cancer 2 years ago. It was a nightly ritual: he had to have a little petting and play time, then he'd settle down to sleep curled up in the small of my back. Gawd, I still miss him!!

I'll pray your kitty comes through this okay!

I have a friend in California who kept her cats going long after they should have died by giving them sub q fluids to help their kidneys, so don't give up hope just yet. They lived well into their teens, with her TLC.

So sorry to hear that, I lost my little 17yo Heidi cat 2 years ago, it still hurts. Hope yours is OK....I miss her so much, she could keep my GSDs in line with a look. Little 7lbs of grey & orange fuzzy attitude. If my dog so much as sniffed her, she would turn around with one paw up like,"I dare you!" Good luck, my prayers are with you, jo

So sorry to hear animules. I hope your kitty turns out OK. I am starting to wonder about all of this renal failure going around???? I lost my dog just a couple months ago to renal failure, and my favorite kitty to a car last year. I still miss his fuzzy butt, sleeping on my head every night.

I'll say a little prayer for Ned. Keep us posted.

So sorry, It is very sad because of the age of the pet, the renal failure is always assumed age related. With so much of it happening, you do not know if it may have been food related. Our beloved pets bring us so much joy and it hurts so much to lose them.
