Folks, my husband and I are buying a bicycle shop and screen printing business and I would like to make some SchH-themed shirts for our club's trial and raffle. I'd like to donate some club T-shirts to our members, as well as some cool shirts to raffle off. Hopefully they won't suck (ha!) because I would like to see the raffle bring in some $$ to offset the costs of the trial.
I've never done screen printing before, and I would like to find some design software to help create some nice shirts for the club. Has anyone on this board ever done screen printing before?
Also, I need to avoid copyright infringements with any graphics, and I'm not savvy to this legal stuff. Anybody know some guidelines to stay out of trouble?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. You can email me directly if you like.

As far as copyright infringements go just make sure you don't use anybody elses art or photos without their permission.

Legal considerations aside, common courtesy, and respect, personal integrity, ethics and common sense dictate that one
NOT use photo's of club training and/or members' dogs, WITHOUT the members' knowledge AND permission.
I have had an individual take photos of my dog at club training and SELL one of the the photos to a schutzhund magazine! When did I find out about it? When she wanted information about the dog's parents and bloodlines...because the mag wanted it to use it for their cover and wanted the information about the dog. Another wholley unethical, unprincipled bitch took photos without my knowledge or permission and then SOLD the photo on a T-shirt ON- LINE. Not only did she display a complete lack of anything resembling integrity, ethics or common courtesy and respect, the bitch MISSPELLED schutzhund!!! (Gasp) There was a guy at the USA Nationals in Gadsden last November wearing the shirt, with schutzhund spelled "shutzhund." I must admit, though, it was a great shot...
The other tacky thing is that neither of these individuals was a gsd person, so clearly MONEY was the sole reason for their actions. Talk about "integrity"...or lack thereof! !
I would strongly suggest that you get signed releases and ask permission, even at public events, such as trials. No, you may not be legally obligated to do so for public events, but personal ethics and integrity count for something, too. JMO

Here is a saying that needs a pic/logo to go with it:
I like my bitches with ball drive!

Vickie,
There already was a shirt like that. It said "I like a bitch with ball drive". Topdog designs sold it. I tried to get one but they were all out of the size I wanted!!

Donna, Seriously, I can't see YOU wearing that shirt! or were you buying it for that handsome man behind the scenes?

Well.........I thought it would be appropriate after Cara got too impatient for the reward while "fronting" and "helped" herself to a bite!!
That will teach him to play with my dog!
Hope to see you and Bob soon!!

If you go to Google you can do a search for "Logo Creation" or "Free Logo Software" and you get a bunch to choose from. I used it once to create a really nice logo for a club I used to attend.
