Schiffslache Kennel Germany - Page 1

Has anyone here imported a dog from Herbert Born? Seems to have some very good dogs that have participated in the BSP and a good amount in Police service work as well.  

If anyone owns a dog from this kennel past or present, let me know. The one dog that I did see in person from Schiffslache was OUTSTANDING.

I know a guy back home in LA that imported a Schiffslache dog a few years ago.  Very nice dog.  Nice structure.  Clear headed.  Unfortunately overpriced IMO.  Of course, that's just one dog and I don't know if he is representative of all their stock.

Overpriced as in Tiekerhook kind of pricing?

Sometimes paying more is less in the end I have found out, especially from strong producers. Maybe someone that owns one now can chime in and say some more.......

for someone who hasd just joined the board 3 days back thats an awful lot of comment!!!. Could you please enlighten us all what kennels have you bought dogs from?

Just because I just signed on doesent mean anything in dog years. This is a simple question about a kennel, nothing more.

There have been some very nice dogs produced out of their kennel. I've never bought from them or dealt with anyone from their establishment, but they have some very nice dogs.

Oh yeah, price is relative. You will pay for quality; you just need to be a smart buyer.

Thanks for the information guys, I will check things out more as I talked to someone that owns a dog from this kennel and it sounds like what I am looking for. They produce a good amount of police dogs/BSP's and have a good reputation from the people I have talked to.

I know this is a late reply, but I am bored at work and reading lots of the board..with that said:

This is a very established and proven kennel..but like ANY kennel, you will get SUPER, REALLY GOOD, OK, and some not so great..

I think your odds of getting a nice puppy/dog from this kennel are pretty darn good though  :)

I would buy a dog from that kennel, if I could make a decent deal. Herbert Born seems to have pretty good reputation, and his dogs are excellent overall.
