She has developed the craving for the raw meat....so just make her diet sufficient with organ meat, muscle meat and add vitamin c and e and some , at a different time, not with it...she has decided she likes the meat and not the commercial dog food...what food do u call plain dried food.....? add the yogurt....put salmon oil on her meat, and introduce a little dry kibble again back to her....she is playing you...dogs like raw meats  ....go to the links for  the Barf diet and y will be ok    .....lots of thread here on that diet.....shes a smart pup....

What brand of dry food are you feeding  at this time?

Not familiar with Arden Grande puppy/  can you post the ingredients....raw meat is ok with any kibble...just reduce the kibble and let pup get hungry.....feed her mainly in her kennel...it lets her know she has to eat ...not look around    and iff she doesnt eat , throw away and feed small amounts three times a day.....skip a whole day, every now and then,,,,makes the pups appetite more receptive....if this is a good puppy food , just keep putting it in her kennel....she gets hungry , she will eat....mix the meats,   liver calf or beef, one raw chicken wing, one chicken neck, an egg, raw, and a handful of oatmeal, dry.,..ad  fish oil or salmon oil , and stir up and let her eat.....make her meals ahead of time in baggies and freeze. thaw the baggie and give to her in her kennel....distractions sometimes keep a dog from eating...it also helps kennel train a pup , as if you dont , you have a nightmare pup..

I just experienced a  dog, of a friend, that needed to be kept for a while, and the dog has never been in a kennel....where do people think a dog needing to be boarded, will stay...in with you and your other dogs, ,,,no...and if it wont go in a kennel , has anyone seen how difficult it is to make a n 80 lb. dog go in a box or wire kennel if it doesnt want to go in it.....to transport, not everyone wants dog hair and a strange dog in their vehicle,,,so crates are needed....dog wont go in it....so u shove and push and make a dog do something that it has never done and believe me its tragic......if you feed you dog in a crate, no one means u have to leave it there all the time...its like teaching kids manners...sit down at table to eat your dinner...,we dont let them walk all over to eat....pups shouldnt either....crating make a pup know  its time to eat....

You may be expecting your pup to eat too much....if you exercise and have an active pup , she should eat almost anything you offer her...she may have low food drive..?  do you consider her high toy drive or high prey drive    or does she have high food drive......are you feeding her treats for rewards of her training.....sometimes too many treats, cause a pup to not eat all food......?????

I have 10 pups, weeks old tomorrow,

I started crate training yesterday and decided last night they should learn to eat in there too. not a single pup would eat so I let them go hungry.

Breakfast was served in the grass, scattered about. you would have thought they had not eaten in a week, very crazy drivey alligator pack reactions from everyone. They all have good food drive but have only eaten out of a bowl in kennels that house 2 pups per run or in the pack of 10.

mid day meal was just offered in the crate again and not a single pup ate. They all seem too busy screaming their lungs out. I left them in the crates for about 30 min. They eat dry kibble and love it any other time.

Should I let them go hungry and keep trying the crate or keep with the alternate place feedings every other time to make sure they are at least eating something? 7 weeks seems awfully young to let go hungry?? am I forcing the crate to young?? your thoughts and experience please.

They may not make it to 7 wks if they don't get fed.

I think they will be fine if you are persistant.  They will get hungry enough to eat. They are not used to being crated and getting out is the bigger priority now.  After a while they will run into their crates when the bowls start making noise.

Pups should go from weaning out of birthing box to wire bottom cages, two or one in each and should be eating before seperated....if pups are eating before seperating, then they are just anxiety pulling a spooiled brat thing....any pup will scream , jump and have a wahl eyed fit and not eat at the time y think they ought to...just put dry food in a heavy crock bowl or a tray ,whatever your set up has, and leave it....dont try to use a schedule on new pups....they will schedule themselves....take away food two hours before bedtime as the last poop call should start lasting all nigh long ,until early, I say early morning awakening......

Feeding pups on the ground is a marvelous idea.....Training to track ,using the nose, a scent that all gsd's use, is enhanced by feeding a pup on the ground.....some sch trainers never use a bowl....all the dogs eat comes off the ground......but .....for pups in a for sale situation, feed in the kennel, and eventually after they find out ,u are not taking them out every time they scream,,,,,they will eat....sometimes pups, are like us, and not quite hungry when we stick a bowl of food in front of them.....are you moistening it with a tiny bit of hot water, stir and feed immediately....most pups like the crunch and it u just sprinkle hot water , it almost makes a quick gravy taste for them......feed cottage cheese and yogurt in a seperate bowl at a different time     skip a meal once  in a while....does a dog good to wonder where the yellow went!!!

I put her plain kibble down in her kennel and would not look at it am off to shops to get some  line yogurt and some beef minced  ext pup is very lively loves her treats for trainning but she only gets little bits i am getting concerned ive never had a pup that would not eat. regards hussar

She is playing you.....she likes the extras   dont give her any treats for a while....use kibble of her dog food on ground to start tracking....sounds like a very good food,. at least better than most commercials, and just put it in there and leave it....she'll  eat...on her own time...I leave mine in their cages all day and all night till it is eaten or dumped    take out  play with or exercise and when dinner time comes again ., put pup in crate with bowl...leave,,,alone....    .usually people start giving table scraps and cook all kinds of meat to make their pup eat ,,,,,afraid the pup will starve....Ive seen high drive pups pull this.....leave dry food and dont add anything for a week till starts to eat...then start gradually adding......if pup eats his bowl   of  food, then later give the curd or yogurt  ,,just a small amount...pups have small stomachs and need several eatings a day....just use your smarts....if you give in to pup and feed something else,,it will never eat its food....I guarantee it will finally eat its dry food....There is nothing wrong, however , in your adding raw meat to the food every day.....thats gonna be a diet you do forever...and you may even go to all raw if you onlly have one dog or two....its so hard with a kennel full.....and very costly but worth it...

If this pup doesnt eat, I have no answer for a pup like that......I never had a pup that after finding out it wasnt getting the extras that didnt eat its dry food.....I have heard people say , oh my dog wouldnt eat what the breeder was feeding when i got pup home..so we changed to    crap ola" and he ate that..so thats why we are feeding it....nada      Its funny that breeder still has a whole litter of pups still eating that food she sent them home with...alot of it is the attitude of the owner of pup....somehow the pup is boss and has figured out that he has no one else trying to get his food, and hes gonna eat when he feels like it....pups sometimes eat out of competitiveness...so ,now , alone, he has pulled a spoiled brat syndrome....
