I just bought a tug toy for my shepherd and it was an AKC toy for rugged pets....built to be used by the toughest dogs. I curiously turned over the cover or marketing packaging and found      MADE IN CHINA"    inder the licensing of the AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB  by Nanco a china company.....My blood began to boil....Here is an american kennel club that has so rigid laws about transfering titles and papers, and keeps your paperwork hung up sometimes for months and years because of being shipped from a foreign company, and now they have gone into the marketing of toys, outdoor kennel, of which I just looked at one,  better made than Lowes and Tractor Supply's and I bet it was made in china....I did not find that info out but I can always go back and find that out.....

Nothing, as a business man, is making me want to wop our congressmen and government in the head, as to find out that now the dog registry for our dogs, here in USA are engaging in a market with China  ,,,Free enterprise,,,,dont go there.....I havae slaved in this country all my life , to earn the best and get to where I am, and when I find out my dog food has chinese checkers in it, and now things I want to purchase are made in CHINA., A country that doesnt care what they put in our food, as we have just read on this base, thru deceptive means, to import to our wonderful God given country where we preach honesty and truth , in breeding and selling german shepherds,,,,and we worry about importing a dog.......NO THANK YOU.. Why are we buying products from a country that has no intention of our best interest at heart.....

I wonder , what is inside this tug toy, with a tennis ball on the end.......Its called a "Ruff-N-Tauff tennis tug....maybe the brains , disected and charcoaled to be a stuffing ingredient for our toys , along with anything they can sweep off the floor in the sheep barns, and put in our toys.....I, for one, am writing AKC a nice letter, as to I am opposed to the conducting of business with China, with my hard earned money, they collected thru registrations, and dna fees, and paperwork at all times a huge price to replace....and that I thought this was    THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB   ...does anyone know  how to say  sit ,come, heel and down and stay, in chinese?

NOOOOO, the AKC full of shit??? LOL

I would love to get a bunch of rich dog people together and start a new registry. I can only imagine how expensive that would be, but with some FCI recognition, and UKC recognition, and a little juice, I am sure that the AKC can be put under.

Amazing when you start reading where things are made.   Check out some of the dogs treats....  Some I thought were the better ones were, you  guessed it,  "Made in China".     The only training treats we use now are the Solid Gold jerky treats or raw carrots.  Not even hot dogs for tracking anymore.

I think one of the worst cases I ever saw was when a union I used to belonged to was out on strike.  The pins and hats they were selling to support the union members were "made in china".........

Yes, and we Americans had better wake up...we get lazy and dont write the companies and voice our opinion...if every american reading this post would zip and email or letter to akc about this, and be adiment that they are highly demanding that you quit giving a foreign country that has communistic interest to actually harm us, if you do your history lessons, along with others at this point in our country..., the licensing to make the toys I want for my dog.....there is another dog registry    that has started in usa and its it CKC and it is run by Christian people , and everyone from AKC runs it down  profusely...and has published many a bash about CKC  ...they have improved their rules.,and trying to make it a better registry from what I have recently learned by calling them...and discussing some issues with them.....yes , they are fairly new, and they let some iffy dogs be registered, but AKC once was new and boy they have some flaws also.....

If AkC breeders would bad mouth CKC , but go to them and work with them , and find a better way, I bet they could be the next best registry we could find....and I bet they wouldnt hire china to do their dog toys or their products...I do not know this for fact, but I can sure call them and ask them.....

I like Chinese food and I like the cuisine of the east to eat , but you havae to be careful what resturant you go to,just like any other...Being in the sevice , it took me a long time to actually eat at one here...and it took a whole office of others to force my hand   to my mouth....I knew too much of what was eaten on the other side of the ocean and what goes into .... nuff said. We do not have to accept   MADE IN CHINA>>>>

Try to find an NRA product that is not made in China. How that's for some real irony?

There are websites that sell made in the US products and things manufactured here can be found in some retail stores if we look around. Wal Mart will NOT be one of those stores. I now buy local produce, fish, and meat to be sure my food is not being tampered with before it hits the supermarket shelves. Back to basics, we can't sit around waiting for the world to change (to quote John Mayer). I'm freezing my own veggies and meat now. A while ago I was watching a program on public TV about the fall of the native Americans; it was said that their downfall was their dependency on the white man for food and clothing. They forget how to live off the land and make their own garments and the white man had them by the short hairs.

I'll send an email to AKC regarding this and will post it to the other breed lists I belong to. If any of you belong to an AKC sanctioned breed or all breed club, you might want to contact  your AKC rep or a club officer telling them you would like them to address this from the floor at the next AKC delegates meeting. I believe they meet in NYC every 3rd month? If you are a GSDCA member, that club sends a rep to every AKC meeting; let Lew Bunch know you are not happy with AKC selling toys made in China. Money talks, it will be the only thing AKC will listen to, they could care less abouot ethics IMO.
