I saw a post just moments ago by Echo I believe. The lost dog. My heart goes out to you!

After your post,  I wanted to post this here. I am a member of this yahoo group. I think maybe for breeders and folks like us who tend to have a heavy involvement with animals we often know how to keep an eye out for lost things.

Like wise if we lost a dog some how we'd want help finding it... so I always feel like I should take time to read about things at least in my area if an animal is lost, I'd want others to help me!

So...

There is the link, for those interested...

Best of luck to anyone in this situation. It's a good idea to microchip... that also helps bring your dogs home if found, esp. if they don't have a rabies tag to trace them back to a vet clinic in a town where you might never imagine your dog showing up.

Echo---I stayed away from the computer this week---had to catch up on some work. This thread confused me till I saw the other one just now.  I'm really sorry.  Hope you find him.  Can't think of anything else to add to some of the suggestions---but one thought.... Have you personally gone to the animal control shelters in the area?  I'd talk to *everyone*....catching them *alone*.  You never know......he could have been picked up and already given away.  I was helping out in a shelter long ago and saw a worker talking to someone.  They didn't realize I could hear them.  The looker  was telling the worker (seemed to be prior acquaintances) what he wanted.  A maltese or yorkie for his wife.  The worker said he'd find one.  Something about that conversation didn't seem right.  Wouldn't hurt to ask some questions--face to face. Personally hand your phone #  to everyone you speak to----you might get an anonymous call. (I've probably frightened you with my post, and I'm sorry for that----but still felt I should recommend a trip to the shelters.)

I do hope you find him.  Don't give up hope.  Someone probably took him into their home,

LMH We are the only shelter,  However there is a vet clinic that houses strays until new homes are found, or they are PTS.  I hate that thought,  But Yes we have been there,  actually have a friend in one of the Vets who works the shelter that houses strays for the City of Pendleton.    Thank You for the thought because that is a good idea.   Thank You for your thoughts,  I appreciate it very much.
