I paid a couple who are starting a dog training business in KY. They wrote a contract stating that upon return the dog would sit, stay, down, retrieve, heel, be crate trained and started in bite development. When they returned my dog he would not preform any of the above. They stated that it was where he was excited and that after two weeks of being home if he still would not do them that they would return my money or part of it. It has been months and they will not return my calls and have broken all contact with the people they trained with around here. I just want people to be aware of a k9 training outfit ran by a woman who claims to be a master trainer and her husband in eastern KY to do there homework on them. I am planning on contacting the KY BBB and seeing if they can help. Any info on what I can do would be helpful. Also the couple use this board often and I hope they will respond and we can avoid any further trouble.

Deuce's Wild, I noticed that you do not have an e-mail address, and in the opinion of many, including me, this does tend to mar someone's credibility. Please take that statement for what it is worth, and not less or more. I would like to know who they are, and you can tell me at my e-mail address Derhundmeister@aol.com which is on this database. I will not share it with the other posters here. I am curious as to who are these people since I live in a neighbouring state.
Regards,
Bob-O

Deuce's Wild, send me an email and i'll see if I can help you out, I am located in Eastern Ky and work for a Sheriff's Office as a K9 Handler/Trainer. If these are the people I've heard about, they are about 35 minutes away from me.

For what it,s worth.A so called trainer who lived in pa conned me into giving her my pink paperd georgous dog to train into a search and rescue dog ,in turn moved to Kentucky and I never was able to contact her again. She even tryed to register him with akc by forging my name on a foreign app. She also sold me a dysplastic male and ran from that guarintee too. "Kal porter". Could very well be who trained your dog.

Just my opinion but for basic obedience training you should train your own dog. By all means, get help from a pro if you need it or take him to classes but if ypu want him to take commands from you, you should be the one doing the handling. These trainers should have been the ones to tell you that.

proud..poppa -you offer and give super guidance --your words are more than just an opinion .. you are most correct. because when it is all said and done. the dog must pay heed tpo the pwner. just because we train a dog ..does not mean that it will pay heed to another .. good advice for new comers !!

On a lighter note, I was thinking KY as in lubricant. Gotta love lack of sleep. So much easier to amuse yourself.

ProudPappa: These obviously , from sounds of story, are con artist ,which are many today, so they stuck the KY to this person...Unless we hear different.....no name has been given , yet...., so they arent gonna tell anyone to train there own dog.....they take the money and run,,,,,Your lucky to have got your dog back,,,,,,
