sell puppies ?

I have a lot of requests from different countries for my GSD-puppies. How can I know if that requests are serious? I mean I want/ have to sell my puppies - but only!!! in very good hands ( for sport or family or show - is the second part ). Most important for me is that the puppies have a good live in their new family. But HOW I can I be sure?

Start the pups off at $1000 that'll weed out the casual buyer right off the bat. If I were a breeder I would ask the standard interview questions: Have you owned a GSD before? If yes where is the dog now and what became of it? Do you have a vet reference? Who have you purchased dogs from in the past? What is your intent for the dog? Any other pets? Children? Married,or single? Is your husband/wife in aggreement about the purchase of the pup? What do you plan to feed the pup? What type of exercise regimin do you have planned? What type of socialization and obedience traning do you plan to do? Etc... But even after all the screening, you can never be fully sure your puppies are in safe forever homes, it's part of the risk of breeding a litter.

Don't Ship, and STAY in contact with your buyers, Your buyers should become your NEW best friends, confidants, and Family members. I drive my buyers nuts ! But they sure seem to like it, and so far so good !

That is my idea too. Thank you so much for informations!!! I am not sure with the requests I¿ve got - from China, from Dubai, from everywhere. I don¿t know they culture there with GSD there and I cannot control what this pople will do - sell them again or whatever..... And my first, very first thing is to give them in good hands. I love my puppies - everyone of them, and I am only a small breeder with only one litter a year perhaps only because my female is very good for the breed general. I had requests for give my female to another breeder for his breed because she is good. But I don¿t want give my dog to anyone. So I made an own litter. But now I have this problem - how can I be sure that this puppies will have a good life.

The only advantage to not shipping a pup is that the breeder meets the buyer in person. Even then, there are plenty of accomplished liars out there who will tell you exactly what you want to hear, and then go out and do the exact opposite with a pup. And I'm certainly glad that Marion and Karl Fueller don't have a "no shipping" policy, otherwise I would not have my Orbis.

The bottom line is you can never be 100% sure. Someone from Dubai who purchases a pup may turn out to be an exellent owner, while the person three towns away may tie the pup out all day and end up ignoring it. This is the chance one takes when offering pups for sale, and no amount of screening can be foolproof.
