This has probably been asked before, but, what is the best quality tracking harness you have used? I think I would prefer padded unless there's some reason why it's not a good choice. Also, your favorite tracking line?  I'm in the desert so a LOT of cactus spines are ending up through my gloves with the cotton lounge line (like for horses).  So, I'm thinking leather would be best, maybe? \

This is for SAR tracking, not sport, if that makes a difference/

thanks,

Dawg

Try a biothane line, it has a leather like feel but will hold up to all different temperature ranges without getting brittle, as well as won't mildew if it gets damp.

As for a padded harness, if you are getting cactus spines on your line and through your gloves now padding may not be a good thing as it would attrack the cactus spines also.

I think a good quality leather harness would resist the spines best. JMO...have never tracked in conditions like that. My harnesses are nylon web.
