potential sport/work prospect, all puppies are healthy

lets say the outstanding pups have good structure, very outgoing personalities, tend to explore/ track smells, learn quickly

the good potential pups are out going, very people oriented, quick learners

the pet quality, thoughs take are not as drivey as the other types, likes to stay near familiar places, people oriented

It does not have to be form my example, this question can be done by you own standard, what you look for and how you place your pups. (as long as its in three catagories)

Sorry its late, i've should have explained better.

yellow Rose you are a breeder, right?

Do you not place place pups acording to tempermant and to what type of home they are going. Breeding/show/work/pet homes.

what do you look for in work and sport prospects?

Yes, and its late and my eyes are almost closed and my joints hurt..... I want a consistant litter where all pups are of outstanding qualilty or Ill quit breeding,,,,I have two studs, Korbelbach and Tiekerhook who with my Ofa eXCEL HIPPED  female throw all outstanding, structural built, medium size, high fighting drives, and good temperaments and ready  to work   all pups in litter....I cannot sell these pups to just a family....they are for sport and canine or  utililty with people that only want that kind of dog.   First  you breed , then you train a good dog......

I breed my other stud and females, high ball drive, not fight drive, super lovey temperaments, but with high intelligence and trainablility for families that know what they are getting into......a german shepherd dog with a lot of high maintenance, attention ,and costlly upkeep and training....., they shed, and if not cared for or left alone ,will destroy everything around them, and if left to their own raising become a nightmare and a neighborhood barking terriorist.....this is why so many german shepherds , end up in the Humane society shelters.....just talked to friend whoses sister works in the Huntsville center, and unbelievable how many beautiful shephers have been euthanized because they are unadoptible....people are afraid of them and they were tossed out for many reasons, not the shepherds fault..owner fault...

I do not want pups lower than outstanding and never have had ......I dont sell pet quality, I sell gsds with a limited registration to keep my bloodlines from being ruined.......most people do not understand and need to learn with their first gsd and Im there for that but your not using my gsds as an   'OOOOPs" class...If the litter is not all of one consistency , then I had better ditch that female or male and go back to the drawing board......using my foundation I have introduced from time to time , what I thought from notable lines and titled , a male or a female, and only one litter told me ,,,this wont go....not what I want,,,,,and does not show compatibility with my line....so I go back to my original plan until I find another combination that is true to the end result I want....all the same consistency in all pups in the litter....and that is the way I want it to be....if and when I cant produce a whole litter all outstanding pups,,,I will have a house cleaning and clearing and retire to siting in front of this computor and my rocking chair and listen to Josh Grogan and Celine Dion  and the Moody National Choir,,,,,

I would take a higher quality, smaller litter any day of the week. I've fortunately never had a litter of nine pups, but you'll know when I do by the headline, "Dog Trainer shoots herself, insanity considered likely cause"

In all seriousness, I rather have a smaller number of outstanding breed quality pups than a bunch of mediocre ones...who wants an inconsistent litter, except of course the puppy millers and BYB's.

Ive had a couple of nine, one twelve only one died , she got tired and I went to house to get a sandwich after 5 hours of labor and it got left in bag,,,,,my fault for leaving her........never want a twelve again   Ideal litter for me is 6 ....lot of people brag about having 10=12 in a litter    poor female  ,,,,,,,does she ever recover nutritionally ?  takes a lot of meat and cottage cheese and vit c  and yougurt to replace her body functions...with get up and go....power boost needed after every litter anyway,,,,and 12 pups break the bank getting them fed correctly.......

Definately take litter of 3 (2 outstanding, 1 good) anyday,  Reasons too numerous and I don't have the patience to type this much today.   But I will say, no excellent breeder needs a litter of 9 pups (if they had a choice...which of course they don't)....only person who needs a litter of 9 pups is someone looking to make money, and in that case they just shouldn't be breeding.

Or a breeder with an exceptional breeding, and many people who want them before they are born, therefore, nine make it possible for everyone to have a choice.  Most litters, people are looking for several different attributes in one puppy, the attributes are important for each buyer's unique perspective.

True Veronica, I ran out of pups on my last litter,,,,,Left one woman very mad at me....She and two others have to wait.....even thought pups are all consistant , they all have different attributes, but non is less in evaluation.....we try to keep all pups on the top level....like one restaurant El Chico, has a Top Shelf  entre on their menu.
