I've never understood why people vote "i'm not sure". I mean what on earth is the point to THAT?????

Pets neutered, Yes, isn't that what we all adhere to ??
Now Breeding stock, Titled, KKL dogs, Champions, or just plain great bloodlines with soundability to offer, NO of course we need those dogs for our programs. but Pets, Yes I do beleive the PETS should be spayed/neutered. of course I'm bias.
And scarry thing is in the same breath I can be with Yellowrose also, I don't like government controls, typically not enough research goes into anything they get they're hands in, and they only make a mess of it. just look at the cougar issue !!!!!!!!!

ok and maybe I should clarify this....
I have tried for the last 6 years now to get this county to adopt some ordinances, one being that any dog in the county over the age of 6 months be spayed/neutered unless the owner is willing to purchase a breeders license, which would cost them x amount of dollars... of course with that license they would be required to undergo no less than 4 inspections per year. and other regs to follow for the health of the animals and to make these breeders more responsible, each pup from every litter is required to be microchipped and they are required to keep records of who the pups are sold to/ placed with. Noone could advertise in the papers from this county without an ID# that would maybe preclude they're breeder ID# (something like that) Anyway you get the idea. It would be tough to enforce, But once it took hold we would not have as many issues with the "county" dogs, Not near like we do now. and abandoned rates would go down too. Microchips are awesome !!!!!!!!
Anyway thats why YES I do beleive the Pet dogs should be spayed/neutered the average citizen, try this you'll be blown away... Ask 10 people at petsmart the next time you go " When is your dog most fertile during her heat season" 7 of those 10 (those are good #'s) will say, When she is bleeding... so Yes the average PET owner does not even posess enough knowledge about they're own dogs heat cycle and fertility period to "know better" or keep them from getting bred by mistake, I hear the phrase "my dog is hooked up to the other dog", every other freaking day. OMG I get so tired of hearing that.
Anyway try that little experiment, you'll be shocked to see how many people don't have a CLUE !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Therefore lending my vote for yes, (NO I did not vote but if I had) PETS should be spayed/neutered.

Take a hike EM. I would not ever support that type of legislation. Even if I chose not to breed like you are I want the option without all the extra big brother watching BS you would require. Who the hell are you to decide what is a pet versus what is breeding stock. Many consider what you breed as only pets. Do you want to give those people control over your right to "impriove the breed"?
by EchoMeadows on 11 June 2007 - 03:06
No not at all, Animules, read it again.... I said in order to be considered for breeding you purchase a breeders status, or Reg# or whatever the case may call for. In order to maintain some sanity in the rhelm of the breeders. And animules you really need to read it again, I was not suggesting it be legislation, I suggested an ORDINANCE big difference.
by EchoMeadows on 11 June 2007 - 03:06
oh and I said nothing about anyone else deciding what is or is not breeding stock... Please read the post again, Calmly and clearly so that you will understand, and this is not a shot at you, I'll refrain from telling you where to go and what to do. I apologize if that post was not understandable for you, But I can not seem to post anything around here that is read with any unbias or comprehension what so ever.
What was I thinking coming up with some crazy kind of idea like that anyway, I mean starving puppies along the side of the road are a pleasant sight to see afterall.... Get the idea yet ???????????????????????????????? Or do you really want me to post the pictures of the dogs attacked by the Sagebrush Ln. pack ??? The dogs that had families that loved them, that these strays (years of abandoned dogs) came into peoples yards and attacked they're pets and these dogs DIED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! oh maybe you consider that pleasant as well. What was I thinking, Shame on me !!!
