Thought I'd start up this thread to see if we have any photographers here :) I just LOVE Photography :)

Hey - I really like that picture of the bird taking off - you get the colors in their feathers really well :)

I thought I would post some of mine also - this is just a few of the things I have taken mostly this year - almost all of it is sized down - I need to add more at some point - but I think I am making a website in august for a kennel and a photo section might be a little blip down in the corner - lol...I need lots of space...the pics are HUGE.

Cate, I really like your photo's.. I feel so sorry for those shelter dogs. I hope they all received very nice homes.

When I see such pictures like those and having people link me to a website to oppose the AB 1634 bill in CA... I have such a difficult time deciding who I should support.

Oh yeah the bird that you're talking about is a Blue Jay. I just LOVE them birds. They're so smart too :) I also love the Mockingbird. Both breeds of birds are very common down here in Southern Florida :)

lol - the pictures have nothing to do with the bill or the SPCA or the Humane Society or politics - they have everything to do with letting people know that there are wonderful dogs in shelters....my mothers dog came from one of the shelters I took pictures from and my fathers mutt came from a shelter in King George - and he is the reason I lvoe dogs so much....so I owe alot to shelters I think.

Your pictures are amazing. What camera are you using?

where did you get that gorgeous costume from? I've GOT to get one for Zambi. She acts like the queen of the castle :D

haha - I got it at PetEdge.  Unfortunately it was the biggest size (I believe XL or 2x) and my girl is only about 55 lb and still has to squeeze into it.  I always rip the leg seams a little trying to get it off her :(  They really need to make more costumes for big dogs!!!

Kelly - I am using a Canon 20-D and shooting in .RAW format (reguires a large memory card)...but with Photoshop you can play with .RAW like when I used to use a darkroom - change the exposrue, the brightness, the saturation, the constrast...I love it :)

I think most of the Digital SLRs can shoot RAW...its somewhere in the menu function.
