You will need to contact Joy Schultz 386-749-4574 - joy@usa2net.net to request evaluation forms. You would send any hip/elbow x-rays to: Martylou Plinski GSDCA/WUSV Liaison Secretary 245 Deerhill Dr. Bogart, GA 30622 $65.00 - certification fee But, you will need to ensure that the x-ray ID states all of the following info or the SV will not accept they x-rays. Registered name Registration Number Tattoo Number DoB Date of radiograph Owner Name Veterinarian Name/and business address: The forms and literature must be filled out properly. The x-rays have to be recent within the last 6 months. Dog must be at least one years old on the date of x-ray Must have a recognized registration - USA=AKC x-rays are not returned they are kept on file by the SV.

The age of your dog and whether or not she has a tattoo will help determine your choice.

.Your dog must be tattooed in order to A stamp. If not; then you must OFA.

.The dog must be one year old for A stamp or two years old for OFA. You can Prelim OFA at 1 year.

Also the SV accepts only Xray films; not digital images. Some xrays are now taken digitally which only the OFA will accept. If your DVM uses a digital xray machine then you must have them printed to film which can be done by a medical lab.

Here is the information for a stamp through WDA. it's no longer Martylou, there have been some changes.

I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure the SV will also require a 3 or 4 generation certified pedigree from AKC, and something else to note-  GSDCA has the program set up with the SV to do both hips and elbows, and I think USA only does hips.

Is it better to have the a stamp or to have the OFA?  Is one preferred over the other?

policemom, we are having our most of ours done a stamp. One is SV registered imported and the others can be white paper SV registered after passing their a stamp as their parents are imported SV registered.  We also like the idea of comparing GSD's to GSD's as opposed to the OFA that does every breed.

That just us though.

When i did my Magic, i needed to have a 4 generation pedigree from AKC, have him tattooed and then sent a check, the xrays and all his info (that info you can get at the USA website listed above) to Kelly Hope at the USA office and she took care of it all for me.  I also did the elbows ('z' stamp) its the same xray as OFA, with the same info as the 'a' stamp xrays need.  The only difference was i had to send my credit card number because it wasnt a set fee yet.  But that was about a year ago so there may be a fee.

If you are doing hips, do the elbows to... its not that much more money.  I think the 'z' stamp cost me around $30
