If you were a breeder of high quality dogs, and sold half ownership in 2 showline dogs, and you drove a long distance to see the place where these 2 pups were living, and later found out that your partners had only put up a safe kennel just before you arrived(they previously owned 3 dogs of the same breed ( all killed by vehicles, no safe kennel for them) , and had hid their other dog in a horse trailer for 2 days so you wouldn't know they owned another breed...... would you consider that deceitful?

I would drive back and pickup the dogs and call it breach of contract.

I fully agree with vomveider. I would be getting in my car and going to get my dogs.

I don't think owning a dog of another breed is an issue.

They at least NOW do have a safe kennel up.

Did you know that they had three dogs previously that were killed by cars when you made the deal?

If yes, nothing has really changed to make your take the dogs back.

If no, then you may consider going to pick them up, as they misrepresented themselves as people safe to place the puppies with.  I am not sure there is anything you can do about it legally if they will not willingly give the dogs back, as the facilities are now safe by your own admission.

Show up unexpectidly also.  Drive over, go up to the door and let them know you are there to check on the dogs!  See what happens next!

Why would you agree to co-own before ever seeing the facilities?

Why would you get into business with someone you know very little about?

Don't get me wrong, partnering up with friends and family is not the way to go either.

If you are co-owners take one of the pups and call it even.

I am not the  person involved in the co-ownership. Some "friends" of mine are the people that bought 1/2 ownership in the 2 dogs from a breeder in California. The dog that was put in the horse trailer, and hid for 2 days, is one that I gifted to them 2 years ago. I was just sickened when my "friend" told me what they had done.

These people present themselves with great dignity, and I am certain that the breeder took them to be very honest and diligent. She knew they had had 3 other dogs of the breed and wondered about the facility. That's what prompted her to make the long journey. The kennel was put up just a day or so in advance of her visit. My friends think what they did was justified because they did not want to risk any confrontation with the owner. Prior to this they have had no kennel. Two of the dogs were hit by the same truck on a  nearby highway. The third was run over by a neighbors tractor.

I think their actions  speak loudly of their intigrity and I am just so saddened to think I gifted them with a beautiful, loyal companion.

Thank you for your input.

Oh...the breeder in California is still unaware of what these     people did to deceive her.

YUCK>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

I would contact the breeder in CA and advise of situation.

You know accidents happen, but to knowingly put your dog in harms way is sickening.

by Ranchinglady on 04 June 2007 - 23:06

I agree, 1doggie, I'm sick at heart over this whole thing. These  so-called friends have just recently done worse to me and my stomach is in turmoil. My heart aches........
