what do you think of people who import GSDs from Germany because they know that though dogs have highly titled parents and backgrounds and then breed them event though these dogs themselves are not titled or proven that they can work. I see alot of site where breeders advertize there dogs Schutzhund heritige yet the own dogs are what seems to me are just pets.

to me this is kind of a waste of what the german/ europeans have been doing in improving the GSD of today.

any comments

SHOW BREEDERS FROM EVERY COUNTRY AND SCREWING UP THE BREED. YOU THINK THOSE WEAK ASS DOGS FROM OVERSEAS HAVE REAL TITLES?.................................PLEASE

BREEDERS IN MY AREA SEND DOGS TO GERMANY TO GET A 1,2,AND SCH 3 ...THEN THEY WANT ME TO WORK THEM................RIGHT. HALF OF THEM WONT BITE A TUG, DONT KNOW A SIT OR THE DUMBELL IT'S ALL ONE BIG JOKE.

Nobelschaft -- similar commentary . and on the forums people get so offended with me . they think because a dog places high in show .. or has a title somehow that makes the GSD a daimond in the rough /better. [ give me an untitled dog that has v structure and can find someone or protect my life w/o a title I would snach up ] . i think that  :  we best think about breeding healthy GSDs that fit the standard in form and function ! with the ralisation the the GSD is versatile .. what you want from herding , search rescue and true protection [ not the Sch routine] the behavioral traits need vary . But how so many are misled as you state !!

I was not just talking about show dogs, work lines apply as well. I just see some breeder who do absolutly nothing with their dog but breed them.  How will the breeders really know if their dog has good intincts in herding or protection. and like NS said:

If the breeder does't work with their dogs and know what they can do then how is it helping the breed and if you knowingly have a dog that just suck at getting a title, why breed it.

how come their are so few dogs titled HGH, Can shepherd still herd anymore or is it the sch title just what everyone wants?

the point is is it really justified to breed a dog which has not been worked with or proven in herding, proctection and obedience.
