This is a bunch of BULL! As Kelly said, he could gain on ANY food. There have been times when my dogs ate better than I did. They are not at liberty to hunt or forage. I am a healthy adult, some of them are still growing. I consider it a priority just as I would not feed my children unwholesome food when money gets tight. Perhaps it is best that he finds a home where his health will be higher on the list of priorities. Jonah

We have 4 dogs.  If the money gets tight, they eat better than we do!!  They have all the care they need even if they have to go to the vet.  That just means that we go without.  That said, we don't have any children.  If we did, I'm sure they would come first, dogs second, and us third.

Geez I hope someone buys him soon! I could not help notice the background , looks like a well to do area to me to not be able to feed good food or enough food. Poor guy......

To those of you that understand that I am trying to do the right thing for my dogs thank you! For those of you that are so quick to slander and pass judgement you have no idea of my situation. Shame on you for not being supportive to someone that is trying to do the best for their dog in a bad situation. And you are right it is sad very sad that I have had to go through the things I have gone through and my dogs had to suffer with me.To judge me on the pics of a well to do area.Did ya think that maybe I took them to a nice place to get a pic? Untill you have walked in my shoes and have gone thru the sh** I am going thru, keep your coments to yourself.I have given them food before I have eaten....in fact I can't remember the last time I did eat! Yes I to hope they get a home soon. Why do you think I am selling them?DUH!!! I could be selfish and keep them with me to suffer more,do you suggest that? They have been my main priority that is why I am trying to find them the best of places for them and I have! As for a vet...if I could afford that I wouldn't be having to sell them.Just like people grow differently so do dogs. Some people have the metabolizim if a mouse and can eat whatever and not gain a pound. Some can eat at McDs and have to run 10 miles to burn it off.Animals are the same. The sire went thru a skinny ugly phase and had nothing wrong with him.He was even on good food .As for worming I have done that!!! The female is more like her mom and her mom never (except after having pups)was skinny or had a bad coat.I have worked at a vet clinic and have given him what I can with what I have.He eats fine and goes to the bathroom fine and is active. If he wasn't  I would be a bit more concerned. So for all those that want to bad mouth me when you know nothing of my situation or me,what goes around comes around.I hope that you never have to live the life I have had to.I am just greatfull that I have had my dogs to keep me going.Again for those of you,Sunsilver, and Ranchinglady thank you for not being so rude in judging me and understanding my situation.

Haus Uly,

I have been in those horrible shoes, still am a matter of fact. I have been off work with NO money for 4 months, and my dog's are my first priority. Even if that means feed a different type of food. I just add in potatoes/carrots/etc to make it better for them. As for a vet you can either take him to an spca for a check up and they will help you on the pay, or like my vet takes payment arrangements. I also have a puppy going thru the gangly stage and you can tell by looking at him that he is going thru that stage. I looked at this picture of your male pup and he does not appear to be going thru the gangly stage at least that is my opinion. I am sorry what you are going thru in your life right now, but you are not the only one. That being said, my dog's do not come close to looking that thin.

Good luck in finding him a wonderful home that has more time for him!! and good luck to you!

Haus Ulv sorry if I offended you by my comment of the background but what would you think if you saw this picture? I am also sorry about your hard times and glad you are responsible enough to let these dogs go if you cannot afford them. It sounds as though you may have bred these two pups and also own the parents? I am only going by your knowing what the parents were like by saying this. I wish you the best of luck and also the best of luck to find them new homes. I still feel bad for your male puppy, he looks very rough.

by Haus Ulv on 02 September 2007 - 01:09

Yes Trailrider I did breed these pup and was there to hold them at their birth.I had to sell the mother as it greatly pained me to do so cause I raised her from a pup also and she was my princess. She however is in a great home with a young girl that has her in bed with her at night as she use to sleep with me.I to feel bad my my boy but he is happy and not lethargic or dibilitated.I feel it is best to find them a home where they can have stability and not have to move around from here to there like I have been not having a house of my own.Right now I am at a friends house and actually not alowed to have them here.So once I bring the pups to their new places I will be on the road again. It isn't  a good feeling when you don't have a home to call your own after losing one that was able to give the pups a good place to be.I to feel bad for my bot but I am doing what is best for him by giving to someone that can give him what I can't at this time.I hope next time you aren't so quick to judge someone or their dog when you don't know the situation. My dogs are fed(before I am )they have shelter, and are not phisicaly abused.Alot more I can say for some dogs that are owned by people that have money and are able to give them what the dog needs but  doesn't.
