Great pups! What's the breeding? And you might want to be a bit more cautious...?

That was great. I want a play set now.

Good job! Nice pups. How long did it take you to get them to do that?

These pups were trained in trailing and air scenting. They could already track decent at this age. I took them to parks all over and also attended agility courses. Took me about five minutes to get them doing this or pretty much any agility. I had ramps etc at the house too. As for hip and joint concerns they were very limited in how much of this they did. I have never had HD in my dogs and most live to be 13 to 14. They are from working parents of DDR and working west german. Their sire was a police K9 and I owned the Dam, both here parents were police K9 narcotics. I sold one of these but still have the other. Best GSD I have ever owned except for maybe her Dam as they are very close.VERY hard and solid nerves.

D.R. That was great! I loved it. It is always nice to see some healthy curious and bold pups. You did a good job of encouraging them along. You have spent some valuable time with them and I'm sure it payed off. At 13 wks they had to have it in them. You can take a dog along ways, up to his genetic limits, but never more. Wish I was a few years younger and healthier, I would love to do that stuff again. We are the only ones that limit what we can accomplish with them. I too would be curious as to the pedigree. Sounds like a nice blend with E.& W. German working lines. It is always nice to see some pratical police k-9 in their familly. These credentials to me are the proof of the pudding. Thanks

Thanks, I will try to scan the pedigree. I am not sure how many litters this Sire had but he came to the States already trained about 3 yrs old and I think my litter was the only one he ever sired. His owner was extremenly picky and luckily she loved my female and agreed to breed to her. He was an amazing male and is still alive and is about 11=12 years old. I spent many many hours training these pups but they made it easy.

You obviously know what you're doing. For those who may not know, I was worried this great video would tempt some people into tossing their young pups on the playground equipment. I lost a five week old pup once when a visitor tossed the pup onto a picnic table and he came crashing down on his head.

MVF Thanks for the post and you are exactly correct. You have to be very careful and NEVER allow the pup to get hurt. If you do they likely will be scared of that activity all of their life. I also spent very little time training agility at this age as it can be detrimential on their joints. Most of their training was as trailing dogs. Notice the pups were having a great time as all my training is motivational at this age. Also, I trained the pups individually at first then once I was comfortable they would not jump off etc I had my wife videotape both of them together. Plus, I did not start on playground equipment but built my own and also trained at another trainers location on their equipment. I exposed these pups to alot going to ball games, airports, different training facilities, rough terrain, tracking in the desert etc.. Not scared of anything...
