went to doc he said it was congentail. Had nothing to do with the male used, which by the way is not an old male and has never had a problem and has well over 100 breedings the fmeale had 12 pups, so it was a room issue. By the its not her first litter either. Thanks for all your replies. She will be fine, all her parts are ok, she thriving. So she will be just a pet, I guess thats ok too!

The following is a quote from Schutzhund USA (october 1983) article by Elsbeth Schnabel ntitiled "Puppyhood Part 1"For simple hooked tails, the tail is rolled carefully downwards, vertebra by vertebra. For sideways hooking, the same method is used, only the tail is rolled in the opposite direction of the hook. As at this age the muscles are easily stretched, the treatment is painless for the pup. Often, a single treatment is sufficient. It has to be repeated only if the dog resumes tail hooking." The author was talking about approx 3 month old pups.

bigbrother, that's great news...I'm glad to hear that she's normal save for a strange tail, and that she's thriving. I always hated it when a newborn puppy would come in to the clinic and we'd find a serious malformation that the puppy was unlikely to be able to live with, so it's good news about your little one. Thanks for giving us a follow-up, and enjoy raising your litter! :^)
