Jantie,
I've wondered where you had been. Good to see you're still sharing your wealth of contact knowledge with people.

I wonder why the site did not come up very well for me? I can't scroll or anything. I bred to Michael Hübner's dog Grisco, son of Ronny. I had a really nice litter.

Hi Animules! Thank you for the nice compliment. It is very well appreciated.
As you know, Lisa and I have suffered quite a lot with the ordeal of our beloved dog and it was only obvious to kind of lay back for a while. In the background however, I have done quite a lot of work. Indiana vom Wildsteiger Land's story was documented for a broader public in the canine magazine: WUFF (links underneath). In sodoing I presented a story as it will happen to most of the gsd-fans.
Wuff-Issue December 2006: http://jantie.demeyere.googlepages.com/WUFF-Indiana-DEZEMBER.pdf
Issue Febrary 2007: http://jantie.demeyere.googlepages.com/WUFF-Indiana-FEBRUAR07.pdf
(Sorry it is in German.)
I can not yet offer the March-issue, but it gives dramatic proof of the great amount of people (readers giving their reactions to the described issues) that have lived the same ordeals/experiences.
Lisa and I also made a powerpoint-presentation of the Life and Death of Indiana, http://jantie.demeyere.googlepages.com/IndianavomWildsteigerLand.pps
in order to warn as many people as possible for promesses of breeders and their reluctance to behave as correct businessmen (and deliver healthy dogs.) You will certainly not contest the fact that the biggest breeders are indeed professionals. Should you doubt the magnitude of their businesses, please feel free to visit my website (www.bloggen.be/hd), I have documented the amount of litters falling, thus proving they are indeed professional breeders that need to apply to the rules of trade, thus delivering dogs that correspond fully with the breeding-standard as described on the SV-website. One should of course never expect less, when talking to the crème de la crème of GSD-breeders.
I have also shed some light on the magnitude of CHD (canine hip dysplasia). Many visitors on discussionboards are putting quite a lot of effort into minimizing the disease, and try to state one can not do better, than chosing healthy parents. I am stressing one should look at the HD-diagnoses of ALL littermates (as we know, their results "disappear", or are never sent in) before starting to breed.
One of the most famous breeders of all times stated in a German court of law, that when every breeder would need to do this, they would not have enough parents left that they could breed with!! Now THAT is their own fault, I daresay. Had they done this from the start, the pool of healthy dogs would have been far greater today.
Prof. Dr. Frank Coopman, former Head of the HD/ED-Commission in Belgium (with the most strict and correct screening) has presented very interesting new findings and measures in the June-issue of the WUFF-magazine. Contrary to what the SV always says, they DO NOT, I repeat, they DO NOT fight the disease. In their budget a mere 40.000 EUROS is used to counter the disease. You will agree with me, this amount will only cover the expenses for a gathering of the medical councel wanting to sit together and discuss matters. We have not read any proof of their actions whatsoever in the SV-Zeitung, so their promess to battle HD is void and empty.
Anyway, let me hold my horses here, I get carried away!
Hope you, your family and dogs are all well! Take care!

Hi Jantie,
Your news would be interesting for many, however, it would have been better to start a new thread so that more could read it if they wished. Now it is burried on this Ronny thread, and few know it is here. Perhaps you could start a new thread with your information?
