Shelley Strohl

by Shelley Strohl on 26 March 2007 - 16:03

Hi all, I had a wonderful time at the show. SV Richter Herr Wilhelm Norsieck was wonderful, very professional, polite, tactful and kind & supportive to novices and junior handlers... something I always appreciate in a judge. I would be pleased to invite him to officiate here at Bosen Kinder in future. The club was wonderfully welcoming and extremely efficient in hosting the event. Everything ran like clockwork. We were done by about 12:30 Sunday, show cards handed out, ring torn down, and happily headed to our respective homes. A small-but-dedicated group, EastConn really proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are capable of putting on a good event. I look forward to attending/entering more events there in future. Also, it was nice meeting people from the various lists I monitor and post to. Putting faces to the screen names really makes a difference, so despite not really "knowing" anyone there, I felt right at home smile.gif I especially want to thank Sue, Frank (handler from Canada) Dawn Marie and her wonderful son, a fine junior handler, who risked his life and limbs to show my reprobate puppies, (they were absolutely, HORRIBLY uncooperative, and frankly embarrassing to someone like me who should know better...) to their best advantage. I felt blessed to have received "VP" on all three of them under the circumstances. Its always great to see a club with such an active, supportive Junior Handler Program, for without the up-and-coming sports enthusiasts, the future of our sport would be grim indeed. The club even had little trophies for "Excellent Junior Handler" in recognition for their efforts and Herr Norsieck was gracious in recognizing them throughout the event as well. I have to warn the rest of you out there with kids enrolled in the Junior Handler Program: These kids are going to be TOUGH to beat! I also want to thank Bogdan Sergo for handling my Carol in the veteran's class, and Steve and Kathy who I met at the host hotel for making me smile and laugh, despite being soaking wet from hours of trying to convince puppies to do their business in a strange place in the pouring rain, sleet, snow, etc. behing the hotel. :-D My heartfelt THANKS to you all and "keep up the good work!" Yours in the Sport and the Breed, Shelley Strohl
