Can anyone tell me about moving with dogs into Hawaii? I have two dogs, about 2 years old each, all up to date on shots. Can anyone tell me about the quarantine situation? One of my dogs is a service dog, how will this affect the situation? I have flown with dogs into South Korea and Germany before. I am familiar with shipping issues. I'm really trying to find out about quarantine. Thank you!

The government of Hawaii has a good information page that should answer all your questions. Be sure to read the checklist for the "5 day or less program".

Do you have 120+ days prior to moving?  If so, you can skip the quarantine by taking care of titer testing prior to flying.  We did this when we PCSd (with a dog and a cat) and were able to pick them up from the airport without them being quarantined.  Are you military?  If so, the Navy Lodge on Ford Island will allow large dogs (we stayed with our Lab and GSD) and is pretty nice.

Jra,
Thank you so much for the info! I have about 12 months until we go so I will be getting the FAVAN test done this upcoming week. Thank you for the info about the lodging as well! We are military. I really appreciate it! I also called and spoke with Hawaii Quarantine. Big help! Thanks to everyone who replied!

Some useful links just in case: http://www.petsunlimited.org/pet-care/traveling-with-pets/ and http://www.aphis.usda.gov/regulations/vs/iregs/animals/

I also second doing the titer so you can skip the quarantine period.

And lastly, can I come visit? :)
