Very nice dogs. Trainer seems to know exactly what needs to be done with each dog to even them out. Wether it be prey, fight or teaching their own dogs the fundamentals of coming through the bite with power. One very nice serious dog that I believe came through them is Yogy Policia Slovakia. Has a longbite that will make a crowd cheer and inhale all at the same time.

I sent them an email through their website.  Does anyone have the actual email address?  Not sure if the website contact link works and wanted to follow up.

Thanks,

Looney,

Sorry to hear about your dog will allergies.... Dealing with allergies is no fun. Beeen there, done that.. Not to mention the elbow dysplasia.. double wammy... really sorry to hear that. But 11 years old is doing good!

As for the DM you mentioned... I am not so sure it would be DM. There are several othe diseases to look at that have the same symptoms as DM. The reason I say this is because with DM there is no pain.

Jyl,

I used to joke that we pulled the short straw when it came to Bravo's health.  It's definitley been a challenge, but we've had such an amazing life together.  As for the DM, I'm still not certain, and our vet said it wasn't really worth the effort of diagnosis since I'm really just looking at quality of life for him at this point.  He definitely has delayed nerve response and knuckling (pain free), particularly in his right hind leg.  The pain is from his knee and a bit of back/elbow arthritis.  When he was 3, he partially tore his ACL in that leg.  The vet at that time said it was only a matter of time until we had a full tear and would need surgery.  I switched him to raw, stopped throwing the ball on land, swam him a lot more and he nearly fully recovered, minus the flexibility to jump much anymore.  He was still able to go hroseback riding with me, hiking, rollerblading, etc without discomfort until fairly recently.  I have been told that the elbow issues are likely from his dam's side.  I know of one other full sibling also with elbow issues.

Bravo is a happy guy.  Our plans changed a bit along the way, but he's still lead a very full life.  Here are some pictures of him from today at just a few months shy of 11.  Despite the stiffness, I think he looks amazing for his age.

Loony,

Very Handsome Boy.  Love that masculine head on him.  It's a shame about his health problems but I admire you for doing such a great job of taking care of him all these years and being willing to change your plans to work with him.

You might have pulled the short straw but Bravo hit the jackpot.  He's a lucky guy to have found you.

Thank you bzcz!

We've had a great time together.  I really wish we could have done more sheep herding.  It was so much fun, but his body just couldn't handle the demands of it.  He sure had a blast on the special occasions that I took him though.

Loony,

Very handsome boy you have there... he looks great for his age. Love his head and expression. In the first one of him sitting at looking foward... he sure has his dads head!

Let me start with that I never initiate negative posts against Slamdunc , CR or anybody. But I will respond to their  vile posts since I know about Vit and I am partner and close friend of Jiri Novotny of JINOPO> .
Chez Rinholtz:
Yeah, I see these dogs littered all over the working and sport scene! Much like JiNOpo.
Slamdunc:
Well, you know what they say: "Even bad publicity is good for business."  But, I still think it is unfair to compare the two.  Vikar has produced some really excellent dogs and VIt Glisnik is a talented trainer.  I would certainly consider Vikar for a working or sport dog.

Yes ( being facetious here) and Jiri Novotny does not know how to train dogs except that he put on dogs now  around 300(!!!)  titles.
And Jiri Novotny  does  not know how to breed dogs except that he is a GSD judge was a breed warden for Czeech republic  for prolonged period of time and was a National adviser on breeding GSD in Czech republic.. And he also was a director of breeding for Czechoslovakian  border patrol lines  for 20 years and made decisions on thousands of breedings and virtually created now legendary z Pohranicni straze lines and at a great effort is still maintaining these  types of dogs.
Vit Glisnik is a nice guy and good trainer of sport dogs and has good high level medium sized super driven sport  dogs. He cooperates with Italian breeders and trainers by producing mainly medium sized super driven GSDs.  The times when he produced Congo Vikar and such( which I imported into USA ) are long gone. ( 20 years +) Now it is mainly Malinois type super prey driven  GSDs  from non Czech origin. ( Holland and WG and such)  His main direction these days  is  smaller to medium sized  sport super prey driven dogs. Jiri and Vit are friendly and tolerant of each other even so their paths of  training and breeding are in diametrical opposition. Vit is super driven sport enthusiast  and Jiri is all around work. They both have done for GSD very much and are known for it all over the world - world of GSD that is,. That is comparison with  people who are criticizing them here. Those are the people who  are not known much anywhere else accept here  on PDB.  Where Vit of Vikar and Jiri of JINOPO are known and respected for their continuous accomplishments all over the world.  Vit for sport and Jiri for work dogs. Thus if you want super driven sport dogs go to Vit Glisnik. That is usually what you will get there.

Do you have better contact info for Vit Glisnik?  I've tried emailing him and no response yet.

Thanks.
