I've been battling dry/cracked nose for a few years with my GSD, Drake. I heeded info on using Bag Balm, which he hated and which also produced some relief, but never really solved the problem altogether, the deep cracks never really healed. Well, on a hunch, because I use it on my own dry skin with a body rub mixed with coffee grounds and sea salt (works wonder!), I tried using coconut oil and within DAYS, his nose was soft, moist and pretty much cured! Just pure coconut oil and he actually likes it! No more stinky bag balm, no more trying to slink away at the sight of the "green monster" can! He easily allows me to put it on and loves licking what's left off of my finger. Just a tiny bit goes a long way and I'm amazed at the results! Cheaper too! Thought I'd pass this along because it actually WORKS!

Yes, coconut oil is amazing!

I also saw an article recently that cherry chapstick will help dry/cracked noses. I'd rather just use coconut oil though.

I dealt with this for 2 years with my male, then I went to see a Holistic vet who told me that he needed a diet addition. I added a scoop of raw ground beef/turkey/chicken and within 2 weeks it was completely healed. I have kept this up with my dogs ever since, and nary a dry/cracked nose.

Mainly when I lived up north in the Cold Weather Winters my hands would get chaffed and I used to use a good hand cream...which I was never so happy with...I then began to use Coconut Oil on my hands (because my wife used it for her dogs)...It worked so well that that's what I use everyday...

And by the way it's also good for your dogs to eat...So it's a Win-Win situation for you...Glad you found something that works for you
