Hi all breeders, how way in linebreeding is the best? Very thanks for all your opinion.

Hello, From what I understand about linebreeding. It is done so that the puppies born will be similar or close to the type of dog linebred on. But also I would like have explanation that suppose a litter is linebred on Ull Arlett and Jeck Noricum. In that case both the dogs have different anatomy and different characterisitics. We see this often like a dog is linebres on 4 to 5 dogs. All dogs having different characterisitcs. What happens in such case. I do not understand the logic behind linebreeding. Is it just a fluke to be able to produce a top dog. Please give your opinions. Thank you.

Look after "Sewell Wright" he explains quite clearly how linebreeding works statisticly. But remember it¿s just a theory and true life often turns out in a other way. Greetz

whats the difference between ulk arlett and jeck noricum in terms of anatomy?

by Sumo on 05 March 2006 - 17:03

I just gave example of Ulk and Jeck. If you see discription some dogs are big, some are medium. Some have different pigmentation, different head size and different general appearence. This is what I meant. Anatomically all dogs have undoubtedly same number of bones. Thank You

Carefull with that! Linebreeding is a instrument to concentrate the blood of a dog, yet it is not a magic portion, most of the time it brings back, toguether with the good caracteristics, the deseases wich were present in the bloodline but hiden in the genetic material. In a constant inbreeding program it wont be hiden, it will appear. I believe that it is possible to breed real good dogs without the inbreeding process, because the German Shepherd is now much uniform, so it is possible!

I agree that at the beguining the linebreeding process was able to bring the uniform type at a short period of time!
