Versatility is what I like the most. No other breed can compare to the GSD's versatility. My dog Andy is a "true GSD" He's a former Police Dog (his dept. lost funding for their K9 unit), we'll get his SchH titles this year, competes in Dock Dogs events (will also recieve that title this year), He is a certified Therapy dog and "Canine good citizen". He's wonderful with my daughter and is an excellent house pet. IMO any dog that can be a police dog as well as a Therapy dog is a "true GSD". My definition.... A GSD (OUR DOGS.) My friend and protector. Does not know or care what Titles he/she has, just as long as they are with the people that they love and admire, they will try to please you, and do what you want. A dog of many talents. They are eyes for the blind, they search for lost children and physically challenged individuals, and elderly. They serve and protect and go where their human partner cannot, sometimes with the price of their lives. GSD's are proudly serving in the Military. They do Schutzhund, AKC Obedience, Agility, Herd Sheep. Visit people in Hospitals and Nursing Homes and bring smiles to patients. The can be trained to do just about anything as long as it is done with love, patience, and kindness. This is a TRUE GSD! Dawn Bonome

www.dockdogs.com It is an event where dogs jump off a dock into water after a toy. They measure how far they jump. It is a sport dominated by water/hunding breeds. My GSD's don't jump very far but they love it! Some dogs jump in excess of 20ft.! Take care, Melanie

Melanie, I clicked on your link with Andy's pictures. I own showlines myself but he could make me a believer. WOW!!!! What a magnificent animal!!! Would you share his full name? Nadia

Thanks for the kind words! I too favored the black and red showlines and really was not attracted to sables at all... until I met Andy. He made a believer out of me! His name is Andy Maly Vah. Thanks, Melanie
