Do you know any scientists, Moons? I mean real smart ones with patents and stuff that were able to make a fortune because of it? I wonder where you get your biases sometimes!
Seems to me your belief in happenstance is haphazard at best. It works for you, because you only acknowledge the power of your own ruby slippers.

ibrahim, i asked you a simple question, do you believe that intelligent design is proof of a creator. what you came back with is just proof that you do not understand cause and effect. the "laws" of physics did not and can not create anything just like the recipe for a cake does not "cause" a cake to be created. the laws of physics don't "cause" planes to fly or an internal combustion engine to run. similarly the book of genesis or the book of revelation did not "cause the universe to be created or end. yr argument is messed up like most arguments relating to proof of god, there is no proof of god only belief and you are free to believe whatever creation myth you want. there are so many creation myths, are they all correct or just the one you believe in is correct, how do you know? you call science, science-fiction well in the same respect you only believe in pure superstition, religion is superstition, a feeble attempt to deny and engage reality for scared people. learn from the the old islamic teachers who strongly promoted science and reason and built great centres of learning devoted to it while the christians were still in the dark ages. some messed up views here hope i can help you sort it out while you still have the chance.
moons your condescending posts make you feel above everyone else when in reality they are just a smoke screen because you actually have nothing of substance to offer so instead of engaging you hide behind much bluster and bravado.

vk4gsd - the very science and reason we both value so highly would dictate that you cannot disprove God any more than Ibrahim can prove God. I am a man of faith, and can assure you with the utmost confidence, that it is not a faith birthed from fear. You also will not find me hesitant to engage reality, through the lenses of science, mathematics, philosophy, government, history, etc.

vk4gsd,
You confused ibrahim with me, I replied to your question, NOT ibrahim
But here is cause N' effect video for you.

ETA this post is for carlin, yr post got on top of mine, get back to you S. confusing?
how many scientists do you think get private or tax payer funding to prove the existence of god or not, it is not a scientific question. money is tight, what would a research application form look like, what hypothesis and measurement tools would scientists use. how would this funding allocation be justified when there is starvation, war, medical emrgency, climate issues, fuel crisis.....needing funding. in fact newton invented physics to find a proof of god as his life quest, he failed incidentally but he learned a lot about how this world works. if god is omnipresent and omniscient, beyond time and beyond space but somehow present thru all time and space simultaneously and was even present everywhere and for all time even before there was a universe as many theists propose then any discussion of measurement or hypothesis testing is kind of just blah blah.
there are actually scholarships available, can't remember name of the org but they are funded by religious orgs and designed solely to try get big science names doing small projects to link the supernatural with the natural. these scholarships are real money that you can apply for, they only result in bad science and bad religion and is just marketing to promote a view and make it appear there is a legitimate debate occurring, there isn't.
science can only prove or disprove that which can be tested, there are many seemingly valid theories that have neither been proven or disprove yet, some more promising than others. evolution is one theory that has stood the test of time and constant and severe opposition, and been subject to more empirical testing than about any other scientific theory and still holds stronger than ever with mountains of data to back it up.
recent creationists attempts to market intelligent design as something new after it was abandoned centuries ago lost in court and in the lab. the stupid DVD they sent around the world basing their whole thesis on locomotion of bacteria as proof of a irreducible whole to prove an intelligent creator was torn apart with simple electron microscope image and simple enough explanations that even "creation scientists" did not bother to argue it, oh well back to the marketing room to think of something else to confuse the gullible with.
dude we are animals of this earth, why not just be decent to each other, the earth and it's creatures, different cultures and the future inhabitants and be thankful for the opportunity to do so, is not that enough.

bee,
Remember the slogan better living through science, it didn't happen.
Yeah I know smart people...lol hell I'm a smart person, I think I even know a couple of patent holders, so what.
Science is always grasping at straws and make no mistake science is driven by money, not for the betterment of society, it has become a competition, we have celebrity scientists making video's, selling books, hitting the tv and radio talk shows.
They must update periodically because they find new facts making the old facts obsolete, theories must adapt to new data.
You hate conspiracy theories, I hate scientific theories.
You'd think we'd be smart enough to at least live on this planet without killing it.
One of sciences greatest creations for all of mankind and the planet........................................Plastics.
VK4,
I'll remind you from the other thread, you have no credibility anymore.
LMAO..@..shtal.

moons i def like you better on this thread, at least you have a position which is that everything is crap except for what you say isn't. do you only operate in the negative, have you actually ever proposed something that can be tested and scrutinized? or just poke holes in every other thing that is ever proposed anywhere by anyone, that's kinda weak and easy.

by Two Moons on 30 July 2013 - 01:07
Since you asked,
What I think is crap usually shows up on a youtube video.
I do not buy creation, nor do I buy theories.
Specific questions will get you specific answers.

so you only believe in the present and what is right in front of you, do you even believe there is an outside world from you?
