Or just common sense, something sorely lacking in many individuals. Well I have spent enough energy on this so as always exit stage right.

The time scale for the creationists is stretching ...  thousand years, now ?
I say, they will have to be careful it does not get stretched out any more, or
people will start to argue there is evidence for them being wrong.

Apart from the obvious conclusion we can be led to by Travels' quote, all
ggturner's source suggests to me is that people can paper their walls with
academic qualifications, it don't stop them having fanatical beliefs and no
common sense.  There were educated people - for their time - in the Flat Earth
Society too.

Before anyone else moans about this going Off Topic [on the Off Topic board],
please remember who directed the thred onto evolution vs creation.

Yep, the OP himself.

Shtal, and ggt, how would what Noah's flood 'did' to geology have affected the soil layers
that have happened AFTER the flood (see my point about archeology).   Was the
Roman Empire PRE-Flood, then ?

None of the above, but I did take High School Science and I have an understanding of what constitutes a scientific theory, something these geniuses seem not able to grasp.

From having experience on this board; if you think about it my opponents always vote for having rescuing device because you are not ready to give up on your world view on the bases of unsolved mystery here, and I can’t really blame secular friends for inventing rescuing device….You see your world view, your belief that solar system is billions years old. So you continue thinking in the way of your world view….If you think about it creationists and evolutionists really all have the same facts, don’t we??? I mean I have access to the same fossils, DNA pattern and etc….As my evolutionist’s; we have the same facts, same physical evidence as it were, we have the same science; why do we draw such different conclusion about the past and the answer we have a different starting point and different world view and different way of thinking things. My point is we all wear mental glasses; we all have a world view, we all come to the evidence with certain preconception, with certain beliefs about how evidence should be interpreted. If you say, oh no not me, I don’t have world view; I believe I come to the evidence neutrally and objectively, but that is a belief about how to interpreted evidence. Your world view is all most basic beliefs about reality which is called presupposition; you’re most basic beliefs about universe, about how we know what we know. They are the rules of interpretation that you assume at the outset before any investigation of evidence. Before you do an experiment, scientific experiment or otherwise, before you do anything, you already have certain beliefs about how universe works, you already have certain presupposition; okay enough said……………..:)

Gsdtravels, how do you know that the scientists in the article used the term theory in that particular passage?  I looked at it again and there are no quotation marks used.  So, I infer that the author made the choice to use the term theory.  It is common for the general public, including the media, to misuse the term theory.    Glad that you learned and retained some knowledge from your high school science class.  However, you must know that there are many scientists (including those who aren't Christians) who do not buy into evolution, including the geological time frame. And, since you know what a theory is, then you know that a theory is not a scientific law and can be disproved.
