During the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, the U.S. produced 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 34 million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers, 24,000 transport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks, 257,000 artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks.

We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services,  invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.

It's worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the Obama administration couldn't build a functioning web site.

2014,
so far so good, but the years still very young.

I'm done with religion, done with politics, especially politics, we're gonna get what we deserve unless people wake up and get off their asses.
I don't think this is going to happen at all.

I'm putting all my money into personal lubricant, I think the demand is going to sky rocket.

Here 2 people can play the copy and paste game. Great original thoughts Mountain Kitty.

No. Americans were united against commons foes during World War II and the space race. Now, political partisans are so committed to opposing the current president that they are willing to destroy our economy with an artificial debt default.

This isn't Obama's fault. This is the fault of people who put their own political interests ahead of the country's interests. I think Republicans will find they get more respect from Americans if they eat a little humble pie and work with the democratically elected president instead of threatening to destroy everything unless they get their way. The whole "liberal policies have failed" argument falls flat when Republicans have done everything they can to block the implementation of liberal policies for three years. I think Republicans know that liberal policies work, which is why they are so committed to not letting those policies be judged on their own merits.

Well, Republicans have opposed everything, and it's not working so great for the country now, is it? I'd like to see if we'd be cooking with gas if Obama could get his way more often, but Republicans are too afraid to be shown up after their agenda blew up in their faces under Bush.

No it's not his fault, and party lines don't mean shit !!
Labels don't mean shit !!
Liberal/conservative is nothing more than a mind game.
Until you separate money and politics you'll never see anything done for the country or the people.
We're gonna just keep on taking it up the rear end because we're too busy blaming everyone else for our own inability to come together on anything.

I remember when a lot of members predicted all these DRs would quit and the sky would fall. I don't see it. I see people who were uninsured getting coverage for REAL medical problems and not preconceived failures.

Starting Wednesday, health insurance companies can no longer deny coverage to people with pre-existing conditions and cannot charge higher premiums to women than to men for the same coverage.
