Yeah, I remember Mother Earth News. I kept one issue for the longest time. It had a story about this guy who powered his car with chicken poop! He set up a methane digester. Many 3rd world countries use methane from human and animal feces for cooking.  It's very simple technology.  Also, I used to live in the town of Maple, Ontario, and there was a huge garbage dump just to the north west of town. They trap the methane from it and use it to generate electricity!  The dump closed in 2002, but all those tons of garbage are still generating lots of methane!

Some bury it, some don't, some even dump it in the oceans.
If you put it all in one place the world would wobble on it's axis.
We haven't learned a thing.

Moons, I watched a big ol black snake kill and eat a copperhead right here in our drive way a couple years ago. Saw something weird in the gravel in front of the truck. Stoped and got out to see what it was. Those snakes were all wadded up in a ball. I watched until the black snake got the copperhead's head in his mouth and started the long process of swallowing it. Really, really cool.

This summer while I was mowing up around the dog yards, I accidentally disturbed a rabit nest. One little one sort of hopped away. But right before that, I saw a black snake in the same area, so I waited till he got out of the way.
Well a couple passes with the mower, and I accidentally hit a baby rabbit with the mower. I felt terrible, and picked him up and put next to the nest to after he died. Well, then a little while later, here comes the black snake. I thought, wonder if that snake'll eat a dead baby rabit? So I reached over and picked up the rabbit and tossed it over by the snake. The snake moved in to investigate, and by golly, he seated around till he found the little thing's nose and started the process of swallowing the rabbit. I hurried down to the house and got a camera. Took pictures of the whole process, all the way to the end of the back toes disappearing into the snakes mouth. It was a small snake, but he managed to eat the rabbit which was bigger than the snakes head. I'll find the pictures and post them, if you want to see them.

That was supposed to say the snake "searched around til he found the little thing's nose" , not 'seated around'.

Joanro,
At the risk of offending a bunny lover by all means post a couple of pictures....LOL
It's just a part of nature.

I once saw a snake with legs,
I was very young and not real sure of what I was seeing, but once I looked hard I could see that a Garter snake had tried to eat a frog, but from the wrong end and he couldn't get past the front legs which were sticking out of it's mouth along with the head, what I saw was four eyes, two legs, and a long tail.
It was the strangest creature I had ever seen at that point, once I bothered it the snake let loose of the frog and it came out of his mouth, I was so amazed.
I might have been 7 or 8 years old at the time.

I've never been afraid of snakes but cautious, some years later two friends and I encountered a Blue racer, the most beautiful iridescent light blue color.
It looked right at us and then began to move towards us rather quickly.
As many times as I moved to one side or the other it turned and kept coming straight for us, of course we ended up running for our lives...lol

I have almost been bitten by both a Copperhead and a Timber Rattle snake, the first bit a pup instead and the second missed my thumb by only an inch as I fed it a mouse.
I've pretty much been bitten by everything else (non-poisonous) that we've had around at one time or another, the biggest concern infection, but with a good washing and some alcohol I lived.

Moons.

My spelling sucks too.
