Two Moons

This is how we keep racism alive, use it to blame all our problems on.

Ace, the fact that you have experienced racism in the past doesn't make you an expert or authority on law or the justice system, and certainly doesn't make your assertions correct.  In fact, in psychological terms, such "belief perseverance" likely makes you and other real victims of discrimination the absolute least qualified.  To make blanket statements and forward opinions as fact only muddies the waters.  There isn't a "goblin behind every door".  Let's not lose sight of the fact that the entire reason this isn't murder is because of the alleged assault.  Racism is all about one group controlling another.  Martin chose (allegedly) to assault Zimmerman; if this is true, Martin held his own fate in his hands.

Yeah, Martin surely fucked up huh?

So that's what racism is?

There's a difference between qualifying the severity of consequences for Martin's alleged transgression, and qualifying Zimmerman's innocence in terms of self-defense, even though they are the same event.  This speaks to something I wrote earlier, about whose right it is to determine at what point any given person must accept a certain level of assault in order to defend themselves with force.  The fact is we live in a society where we expect and assume someone or something ought to belay the negative consequences of our actions.

What a crock.
On so many levels.
Funny thing, at least in America, soon the white race will be a minority.
Society is not as it appears carlin.

Racism is ignorance,
ignorance in the belief that based on the color of a persons skin that alone somehow makes them different.

So simple moons; too simple.  That's not a bad thing necessarily,  but it doesn't help the cause or conversation, and once again, when you struggle to apprehend, disagree, or lack articulation, you bellow.   As you say, "SSDD" ?

What conversation?

Speaking of racism, from what I understand, George Zimmerman's brother stated (and George Zimmerman agreed) that they identified as Hispanic, yet George Zimmerman was reported as white by numerous media (NBC, ABC, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc).  When George Zimmerman and his family again stated they identify as Hispanic, the term "White Hispanic" was created.  Various media even created their version of the 911 tapes from the actual 911 tape (various media employees were terminated over this fiasco), the media (especially Chris Matthews from MSNBC) even stated that the video of GZ in the police station showed no injuries yet when the video was evaluated, it clearly showed blood from his nose and numerous cuts and bruises to the back of his head.  From all accounts, the media wanted this to be a racial issue no matter what they had to do to get their way.  What ever happened to real news reporting where the media took pride in their accuracy, credibility, and professionalism, checking their facts before putting it on the air or in print?????

Exactly Mindhunt; shocker.
