That woman got 20 years b/c she was the aggressor. She went to her Ex's home to get stuff hoping he wouldn't be home. She had a restraining order on him because he use to beat her.

She went to the home and he ended up being there and they had a verbal altercation. She left the house, got her gun and went back in the home and fired a shot in front of him and her kids.

She was offered a 3 year plea deal but turned it down. The moment she went BACK in the house with her gun it became aggravated assault. She should have just left instead of getting gun and going back in. She screwed herself.

She was sentenced to 20 years because of another stupid FL law - “10-20-Life law,” which mandates sentences for crimes involving a firearm.

And Zimmerman should have stayed inside his car.

Yup. Aggrivated assault. She had bad legal advice. Should have taken the 3 year plea deal. She just had a baby 6 days prior.

Don't even get me started on Zimmerman . I just heard the Juror speak and she just made things WORSE. Guess its a good way to build interest on the book she is currently writing about it.

Bottom line, if the races were reversed (Zimmerman was black and Treyvon was Hispanic) he would have been arrested immediately and would have been convicted.

A black man stalking a 17 yr old walking home with a bag of skittles and a soda in the rain to watch the All Star.

If you think he gets off like Zimmerman you're a idiot. I've lived in Orlando and know Sanford.

Agree 100%, Ace. I didn't see the interview with the juror yet. If I served on that jury I'd not want to be seen on TV.

These are the kind of unsubstantiated assertions that will cloud the pursuit of real truth.  You can't expect to be taken seriously and be counted when your treatment of the situation is casual, careless, lacking reason and touting little more than anecdotal evidence at best (and I just gave you that free-bee).  It is altogether disappointing when I see people's strings so easily tugged by the media. Turn off your tv's and read a book.

Everyone has their own take on this Carlin.

Blitzen, of course. Which is why with such an important issue, we have to proceed reasonably.  We all want the same thing, truth and justice.  There's a way to go about doing that.  If Al Sharpton and co. successfully make this about race without any evidence to that end, then a great number of thinking people who support further inquiry will be forced to abandon the cause because of the perversion of the process.  I am no friend of Zimmerman's.  Even if he's not guilty of murder, I have a problem with his choices that night.  In order to ensure justice for him, for Martin, and for all of us moving forward, we have to get this right by doing it right.  If we find that things have not been handled properly every step of the way, then THATS the time to begin asking why not.

Ocarlin that counts all nice but until the day YOU become black and get racially profiled you speak on something you know nothing of. You have zero experience.

I'm a black male and have been racially profiled on more than a few occasions. You have no idea what that's like. You have no idea what it's like to take a walk in your neighborhood and cops stop you and ask you...

What are you doing here?
Why are you in THIS neighborhood?
Or how about the GSD breeder who called me a nigger to my face?

I could go on and on. What pisses people off is that some live in such a bubble world they have no clue. But of course you hear, "hey I have a black friend, I'm not racist!" Like that means something.

I have a 6 yr old that I have to prepare to deal with a racist government and bigots all around.

I guess the killing of Medgar Evers or killing of many others was just a "misunderstanding" then huh? Mistaken identity?
