oky-doky....just placed order for all 3....(trilogy) will have to give it a go....I am fresh out of books...I read 2-3 books at a time usually in different language or complete different genre  because its hard to separate stories if they are in the same time period or by the same author....so this will be good...I just started russian classic by Bulgakov "Dogs heart" I seen a movie over 20 years ago...that was the first time i seen GSD...figured why not...should go perfect with Daughter of the forest. :)

Boy, I have to expand my reading horizons. I'm stuck on dog stuff  like "The Story of Edgar Sawtelle, "The Art of Racing in the Rain" and  J. Patterson, Deavers, Crais thrillers. Do y'all have Kindles?  I don't, I get most of my reading material at the local flea market, so it's usually not the most current best sellers.

I too prefer books....as paper books....i love technology but when it comes to books i have to have pages, i fold corner of my page when i stop, i love the smell of books, i like seeing my huge library (which is still in boxes right now) i like house libraries (my "sun room" will be a library soon...with book shelves around 4 windows) and i am hoping that reading a real book does not become a lost art.... I will gladly pay more for a book than electronic version...

I agree, a book is a book and nothing can replace it.
I love the smell of a book.
They will remain long after the batteries run out.

I have all the kinds. I prefer the hardcovers, just because the print is bigger these days! I have an old Kindle, I hardly use, because I can download books right to the iPad-mini. And I really do like it. The problem is, the other part of being a reader gets obliterated. The actual act of sharing and passing a great read to a fellow reader. We just love finding treasures for each other. My best, book-buddy, reader-sharer for years has been my GF's mom. She's in her 90's. I always love her choices. And I was surprised that only a few years ago, I gave her the first Steinbeck novel she'd ever read, East of Eden. There really is a reason some books are called classics.

LF: You will not regret buying those books! I gave mine to a friend to read, she needed a little romance in her head... and she turned around and lent them to someone else... and well, that happens to my hardcover books quite often, I can never seem to keep a great book for long on my bookshelves!
