Hi Hank, I was born into the United Church, but am not affiliated with any church now.
I am currently attending the Christian Reform and like it very much, however, I have not done a Bible Study on Rev. with them.
I have asked two very Godly Ministers that I know and trust as to their thoughts on the micro chip, and they have similar views as mine.
Some believe (not me) that the mark is an invisible one, like God's seal on His elect, and that the day will come when you must choose the Sabbath (Saturday or Sunday) and that will be the test.
However, I believe the mark to be literal as it is from man, not God.
With the coming of the New World Order which many can see plainly, not just Christians, the collapsing of the American dollar, and the cash system world wide, I believe the introduction of the micro chip to be the next step where all will be equal, no rich no poor, just one big happy family...
.
As stated in Revelations the mark of the Devil is an economic mark, and without it we cannot purchase food etc..
Therefore, I believe that Preachers had better make sure they are preaching the right information concerning this mark, or they will be leading many to their destruction.

Red Sable, that all dealt with the times in the Roman empire with the Christians....
The mark of the beast is acceptance into the world. It is willingness to follow the ways of the world. When you read in Rev. 13:11-18 the way that people are treated who DO NOT bear the mark of the beast, you realize that standing up for Christ comes with a cost. Without the mark, Christians are alienated and isolated. They are denied business opportunities and even basic necessities like food. This was absolutely true during the most severe persecutions in Rome. Christians lost their jobs, had property confiscated, lost their citizenship, and were even executed or tortured -- all because they refused to "wear the mark of the beast", i.e., practice Roman national religion, accept abortion (which was common in Rome), indulge in fleshly desires, and other such moral challenges.
The 666 is a symbolic number. In Hebrew literature, the number seven is considered cyclical and perfect (seven days of the week, sabbaths, jubilee, etc.). The repetition of three was also considered a perfect number (the trinity, God/man/woman in creation, etc.). But six was symbolic of imperfection. It came just short of seven, so it resembled seven but was inferior, imperfect, even obscene. Thus, 666 is the repetition of "obscenity and imperfection" three times. It is an utterly obscene number in symbolism. It makes sense, then, that it symbolizes the ways of the world versus the ways of God.

Red Sable, that all dealt with the times in the Roman empire with the Christians. Mt reply...After the Abomination of Desolation is committed in the middle of the 7 years the Atichrist begins I full fury a campaign os satanicall persecution which is desighned to destro both the remnant of Israel and all of the gentiles who reveal themselves to be following Christ. Te persecution of this latter period is so intense thatin 24:21; Christ labels it as a time of GREAT TRIBULATION.hE FURTHER DECLARES THAT THERE SHOULD NO FLESH BE SAVED EXCEPT those days shall be shortened which the are by Christ sudden comming at Armageddon 3 and a half after the Abomination has been committed Matt.24:29-31; 25:31 Rev. 19 :11 These things have not yet occured. The Abomination of Desolation described in Dan.9:27 and written by Daniel in the 6th century B.C.was still futer when Christ warned of it in Matt 24:15. Romans tore down Jerusalem 1n A.D. 70 it was still not committed by the General in command, later Emperor,Titus. Josephus,an eye witness and Titus interpreter, has given us a full detailed almost day by day account of the seige and the events after in his lengthy wars of the Jews. He tells of Ttus high regard for the Jewish Tenple and for his superstitous fear of it,and he makes it crystal clear that Titus never did anything close to what Paul describes in 2 Thess. 2:3-4 the Abomination of Desolation. Jesus in Matt.24:15 said that Abomination-the entrance into the Temple by Antichrist would be the signal to Flee from Jerusalem; but the Temple was entered and burned in 70 A.D. only at the end of the awful five month seige when flight was impossible as the Romans had been surrounding the city for months,And besides,Christ promised to appear personally in the clouds Immediatly after the tribulation of those days Matt 24:29. and He certainly did not do this when Jerusalem was aflame at 70 A.D. Despite what anyone may say the abomination of desolation and the tribulation period has not yet come to the earth, they are still in the prophetic near future gouda |

No, I think he is right! but we shall see!
Love ya Moons, even though you can be an old curmudgeon at times,
and thank you for not trying to shut anyone down just because you think it is ludicrous or you don't believe it.
Anyone is free to start another topic if they so wish, on whatever they wish, and we can thank Oli and GSDmod for that.
