And nothing like justifying that insensitivity
...care to substantiate that? Didn't think so, because it's not possible. You're certainly entitled to your opinion of the author, but then, so is everyone else, and that is the embodiment of freedom. I may not have chosen the same path he did, but if one is really interested in the issues (as opposed to being simply bored perhaps), further consideration of what is actually purposed may indeed go a long way in addressing those issues. Case in point, the author brought to light the fact that not only do these older conventions still exist in pockets, but they remain polarizing forces within the electorate, and as a result remain obstacles for moderate conservatives which may include the author himself. Surely someone who supported such things wouldn't being serving their cause by bringing attention to them in a paper with the readership of the Washington Post now would they?

Image, opinion, it's here and then poof it's gone, slight of hand, or should I say mind.
As long as the people are more interested in the show than what actually happens they deserve what they get.
Things were bad enough before this administration, but now..................... hell I don't even have the words to describe now.
It's like attending our own funeral, I think my worst fears are about to be realized.
Chaos has begun in earnest, the play has begun, let the magic show begin, there will be no intermission, when we wake it will all be over.
Quite simply.

Lol...truth spoken.

Now, I will say my impression. It does sound to me that the opinion in question is geared toward the old-school, uber-conservative, skull and bones styled GOP. Oops, does that sound like a tea party?

I don't like petitions either Bee.
An angry mob gathered around a fire with torches in hand all of the same mind sounds like heaven to me.

Sorry if I misunderstood you, Carlin. Frankly I seldom know exactly what you are saying without using a dictionary

Well the author of the article when confronted said it was about the TEA PARTY.
I thought it was geared towards those old school Democrats, the 83% that voted against the abolishing of slavery.
