The early Anita Blake books were good ...and then the series degenerated into thinly written passages to set-up yawn inducing porn scenes. If you are going to do erotic literature then keep things interesting like Keri Arthur's Riley Jenson series. I found the Merry Gentry series boring too. "OMG! I have a new magical power. Whoa - new hot guy with flowing mahogany locks - let's get it on!".
