RS - it's disappointing to find that what you have gleaned from my post could be misconstrued as the endorsement of violence under NT Christianity.  Please, spare us all your grandiose visions of Biblical scholarship.  The parallel between religions was an historic one, and foundational.  In practice, there has been an unthinkable amount of blood shed in the name of God in the NT era.  These did not represent the entirety of Christianity any more than do the Islamic extremists.   Your view of Christianity seems to be as myopic as your view of Islam.

The Christian ideal most Americans subscribe to reflects over fifteen hundred years of societal and institutional evolution within the faith.  Theologically, Christianity isn't supposed to be a subculture of any reference group, however, the hermeneutics are continually and conveniently being changed to suit the agenda of any given governing body, be it denominational or educational.  The evidence of this can be found in Christian media, where trends ebb and flow in similar fashion to pop culture.  To complicate matters, there is now big $$$ to be had within those circles.  I'm not going to start taking sides, but just for example, take the SBC (one of the most powerful and influential Christian evangelical groups in the nation); do you know how many times they have changed their statement of faith, the  "Faith and Message" ?  I don't have the time or the stomach to even begin a dialogue about some of the contradictory interpretive practices forwarded by some of these trend setting power players.  This trash funnels its way down as "truth", and you get what we have here today. 

You must keep your tools sharp and up to date with better improved models to keep up with the times.

What is most interesting is that Muslims themselves do not believe that Christianity and Islam
are compatible.Rather, Christianity and Islam,properly understood,are entirely incompatible.
Tragiically, some Christians are overly eager to concede Cristian doctrine and turn
a blind eye to Islamic views in the interest of unity and religious survival.
When we concede to their demands,we are confirming the Qurans statement about Muslims,
Ye are the best of peoples {Sura 3:10} and thereby we who are not Muslims are second class citizens.

Your sons will be slaughtered and your daughters will become Muslim wives,bearing sons who will fight for Allah in this region.
Your only other option is to flee tonite,leave your home and everything behind.
