so your presuppositions are WRONG AGAIN.

by Shtal on 01 May 2014 - 08:05
But as far as I can see you deny supernatural by the definition; you can't accuse me regarding my presuppositions are WRONG!
by vk4gsd on 01 May 2014 - 09:05
Xtians cannot even agree on the location protestants have their tomb catholics have theirs.... and the gospels are all over thr place like it was all just made up, which one would have to conclude after reading the gospels with an open non-biased mind that was just made up.
unless your presupposition was that it was already true before you even read the gospels which is most xtians i would guess.

You have logical fallacy, because you self contradict your own logic in regards science and history. Modern science claims that a man cannot be born of a virgin, walk on water, heal the sick, raise the dead or rise from the dead himself. But I believe all those things of Jesus. Why? Have I done science experiments on them? Of course not! I believe these things, because I have read about them in the Bible, and I trust what the Bible says.

Anyhoo i will ditch science in a heart beat and get on my knees for christ if you supply the affadavits and actual credible historical evidence... no experiments required.
get the evidence outside the bible or stop babbling with your fairy tale rubbish.
the evidence suggests GOD DOES NOT EXIST, JESUS RESURRECTION IS A MYTH.
thank you.

Gouda, your link did NOT work, whatever was in that link I don’t know but I will tell you this? What the most Christians do? They give evidence, and you hear evidence in the court of law, if you give evidence to unbeliever you actually saying that they are judge and unbeliever will argue evidence with you all day long until you are blue in the face, why would they argue evidence with you? Because you are telling them that he is the judge, in this courtroom scenario, when you are doing that – where is God? He is in the criminal box, and you are putting unbeliever in the Judges chair and you know that you can win that argument; you can prove that God exists, we have wonderful evidence but the unbeliever is still the judge. I am NOT saying God had to used evidence to convert people because he has, I know genuine Christians – that’s where the most people defend their faith, I know people that come to their genuine faith in Christ through evidences but the problem is I think there’s a lot of people out there walking this earth who say that they are Christians because of the evidence and folks on this forum if you are a Christian because of the evidence you are NOT a Christian, “If you are Christian because of the evidence” Now that sounds kind of weird, because it’s true (it will have the most evidence) but if you are Christian because of the evidence – you are GOD; you are the judge. What happens if you the next day you backed out your driveway? Backed out your 3 year old daughter, you didn’t see thing of Christ guidance, now you have evidence that there is no GOD. Now guess what? I am not so sure I am Christian anymore; you see that’s the thing, when things happened when we don’t understand, we lean NOT on our own understanding and we trust God. (Romans 8:28) All things work good for those who love him. That’s why I can watch how my mother who got paralyzed and suffered many, many years and then afterwards past away. And I could praise God, and my mother was Christian she can praise God too, because I know God works all things for those who love him and at the funeral home I can say I am happy she is gone, you know my mother had suffered many years and If I didn’t know if she was saved, I would want to / prefer for my mom to live in that agony forever and NOT go to hell. And to finalize my point Gouda, we will have the best evidence and the most evidence - but we are Christians because God has taken our heart of stone and giving us a heart of flesh; that’s why we are Christians. Thank you for reading, Shtal.

If you check out the near context, you will see that Jesus is talking about people acting hypocritically. The verse is NOT about unbelievers at all.
The point I believe that Jesus was getting at is: When a believer is not living and practicing a transparent and open life based on the word of God, then it is the BELIEVER who is bringing REPROACH to the cause and furtherance of the Gospel. It is the believer who is at fault here. NOT the unbeliever. The unbeliever is just acting like an UNBELIEVER. When the so-called believer "preaches" one thing, but obviously is a hypocrite, then the unbeliever has a legitimente reason (to him) to REJECT the message. This hurts the cause of Christ.
Too many times christians have run into opposition in witnessing and just "shrugged" it off with the lame excuse of, "well, I dont want to cast my pearls before swine", and give up on a person (who Christ died for, I might add).
This warning is to CHRISTIANS not to be like the pharisees. It has nothing to do with "condeming" a unbelievers "rejection" of the Gospel.
After all, an unbeliever may be spiritually blind, but not neccesarily STUPID. They can spot insincereity as well as you or I can.
I would urge all christians to re-check out the context in which this statement was made by our Lord.
Remember, CONTEXT IS KING!!!
So in a nutshell; The christian is "casting his pearls before swine" when he/she is being a hypocrite (preaching one thing and living another thing) and brings shame to their Lord.
Thanks for letting me get that off my chest. Like I said, the misuse of this text has always been a pet peeve of mine.

Gouda,
How would you interpreted Matthew 10:11-16
It talks about: And into whatever town or small place you go, make search there for someone who is respected, and make his house your resting-place till you go away. And when you go in, say, May peace be on this house. And if the house is good enough, let your peace come on it: but if not, let your peace come back to you. And whoever will not take you in, or give ear to your words, when you go out from that house or that town, put off its dust from your feet. Truly I say to you, It will be better for the land of Sodom and Gomorrah in the day of God's judging than for that town. See, I send you out as sheep among wolves. Be then as wise as snakes, and as gentle as doves.
