your welcome ibrahim.  but remember those tolls just clean everything up. they arent a preventative measure so if the adds come back you should update those tools and run again. also periodically they should be used anyways just to keep your system clean and efficient.

best of luck

Now, if Ibrahim hadn't gone public about this problem,
useful information may have been lost to the rest of us
about how to deal with such ads !
Ibrahim, you are brave to risk all that teasing !!!

by Ibrahim on 03 July 2013 - 04:07

Thanks Hundmutter.I am rather an old man for caring about those sites, and I wouldn't lie about me not visiting them, if I did I wouldn't be ashamed, it's no big deal. I understand what friends said about how those cookies get activated and trust their expertise, but this issue is only with the PDB, not any other site and that is what puzzles me. Sometimes it is embarrassing especially when Lujain, my young daughter, is around. Anyway after I used the suggested tools, those ads just disappeared, at least till now, .
I am not ashamed really, because I know I haven't done anything wrong, also I think my friends here would understand and be forgetful like  Hundmutter did, my only disadvantage is that I am not as well informed on the net things like others and asked for help, which I got Teeth Smile

Or it may just simply be Google and has nothing to do with cookies.

That's true Moons..............I have seen those ads he's talking about--just now and then on here and also it's the only place I see them. Like Ibrahim, I don't go to those sites and if I did I'd admit it. And I do keep my temporary files and cookies deleted.
By the way,  how does that Ccleaner work and how do you get it? By the way I use Avast--the free version and I love it. I think it is the best.

"Ghostery" add on for Firefox=no ads at all; FTW.  Shades Smile

Personally I've had more problems with commercial sites than "those sites" ..lol

Also I keep back-up disks up to date incase I opt to re-install my system a new.

Best advise is to learn what not to open, not to click on, and my settings asks me before allowing many operations to begin.

Just surfing youtube you can quickly see how you are being tracked by guess who.

It is rapidly getting worst.

Just for the heck of it I checked on what tries to track me when I access youtube.  It's google's "doubleclick", and this article talks about what it is, and what they do.

I could see all the segments they've pegged me with, LOL  I unchecked a bunch that I knew were because of other family members jumping on my machine. Pretty scary how they get to "know" you!
