Naw, he was probably a city slicker from Connecticut.

by beetree on 10 April 2013 - 08:04

You know, I just saw the news. They mention knife. But not exactly an X-acto. We don't even know what blade was being used? Or the manner of handle! Was it a standard issue number 16 blade? We aren't getting the whole picture and the story keeps changing!

Sorry Joan, I just saw the news, the knifer is a deaf, crazy, redhead who was homeschooled. He'd been going to the college since a youngster to .... get this... learn to socialize!

And, our CT mass killer, Adam Lanza, attacked children in affluent suburbia. This one is all Texas, their own homegrown son.

by joanro on 10 April 2013 - 09:04

Ah, then deaf, crazy red heads need to be banned. Especially if hey've been home schooled and are raised in Texas and have any affiliation with the NRA. So it doesn't matter what weapon they use.

by beetree on 10 April 2013 - 09:04

LOL@Joan. It sucks doesn't it? When no one listens to your silly argument?

by joanro on 10 April 2013 - 10:04

Doesn't bother me, really. I don't worry about controlling things I have no control over.
All I'm attempting to do is what your seem to be doing as well; demonstrate the ridiculousness of some claims and statements made by the powers that be.

by beetree on 10 April 2013 - 10:04

Ah, and that is the debate! What is ridiculous? Common sense gun control? 92 percent think it is necessary, and yes, since we do get a vote, it does start at the top!

by joanro on 10 April 2013 - 10:04

You think common sense gun control is ridiculous? Maybe common sense is ridiculous, too. It certainly isn't common. BTW, do you think that you are elite because of your proximity to the school slayings? And therefore, anyone else, who happen to also own guns, are among the the ignorant minority who don't support "common sense gun control"? I don't believe you think you are elite ( not for that reason, at least) but you do come across as a bit condescending towards Texans.

by beetree on 10 April 2013 - 10:04

You are not making sense! Common sense Gun Control is necessary and certainly not ridiculous. Attempting to discredit that idea with this thread is the ridiculous thing.

BTW, do you think that you are elite because of your proximity to the school slayings? And therefore, anyone else, who happen to also own guns, are among the the ignorant minority who don't support "common sense gun control"?

My answer to that is: NO. I am not elite in my view, I am actually very common in my view. I agree with 90 percent of American's who recognized that the NRA crap they spout is just, well crap. The tragedy makes it very real on a daily basis. Common sense must prevail and it must cross party lines to get things done. In CT we did that.

by joanro on 10 April 2013 - 10:04

So, who are you arguing with? And who are you trying to convince that " common sense gun control is necessary" ? It doesn't matter what a minority of people want, doesn't even matter what the majority wants. This country is run by politicians who are bought by lobbyists, and big corperations who get what THEY want. And, no, WE don't get to vote on gun control laws.

by beetree on 10 April 2013 - 11:04

Joan? Knock knock!  Maybe try to make some sense? Your disillusionment will only stagnate yourself!
