"they love and trust us, they don't know our religions and beliefs, yet they love, trust and enjoy our company"
geez they sound like gods, or at least angels.

Ibrahim.... are you saying that it is your opinion that most of the people over in your area are more economically motivated, as opposed to religiously motivated?
by Ibrahim on 01 August 2013 - 22:08
Not necessarily economical. What I wanted to say is quarrels in life between peoples are not based or due to religion differences/conflict. Quarrels and differences are due to other reasons, mostly political, economical, social etc.
Example, Ethiopia is nowadays constructing a dam on the Nile river, this is causing reduction in the water reaching Egypt, at the moment they have a start of a conflict which if not settled through dialogue will turn into a bloody war. Reason is not religion.
Iraq conquered Kuwait, conflict was due to a petrol will and some political issues, so it wasn't religion based. Conflict between Syria, Hizbu Allah & Syria on one side / Arab Gulf countries on the other side is political not religion based, and so on.

Before Israel was created in 1948, there have been several Jew Palestinian families living since decades, there is quite good percentage of Christian Palestinians, never was there a conflict between these components based on religion.
Same in Syria before the present war against it, I say war against it and not internal conflict and I mean that. Same in Jordan. Now some of the Muslim Brotherhood try to induce a conflict between Muslims and Christians but we fight that and are aware of what they're trying to do.

People fight over many reasons, the least of them is religion/beliefs, that is my thought

Then why, in your opinion, do certain Islamist states fund certain terrorist organizations who operate under the guise of religion? Why also, in your opinion, are such rigid lines drawn between Sunni/Shiite if religion is not the center? Out of curiosity, have you ever been to the United States? I am wondering if we have two different views of what a "religious" society is.
by Ibrahim on 01 August 2013 - 22:08
Please be specific, what you may consider a terrorist Islamic faction may not be considered that by me. Al Qaeda is a terrorist faction in my opinion, it was created and funded by the US and Saudi Arabia to fight the Russians in Afghanistan. As a tactic Al Qaeda used religion to justify fighting the Russians, Saudi Arabia did the same to fund Al Qaeda, but in reality it is all political and economic interests not differences in religion. If that is not clear or convincing I can explain more.

In regards to Shia and Sunnis, there is no conflict at all. Arab Gulf countries are tails to the US, US has power, political and economic conflict with Iran in our region, Arab Gulf countries use minor differences in what Shia believe and what Sunni believe to justify standing with the US against Iran.
Iranians have always been of Shia majority, when Shah was ruling, the US, Iran and Arab Gulf countries were all allies. After the rule in Iran became hostile to the US, the talk about Shia and Sunni came out.
Most of people here do not fall for that, we understand what really is going on.

People should never think religion wise, they should always think nation wise, if we think as Jordanians we remain in peace, if we think based on religion or race then we invite conflict to our big family. Always nations should highlight what combines, not what divides.
