Well I just read an article in addicting info.com and it says his lawyer even said he had this twitter account and was calling Hispanics racial names and his ex a hoe and all that..............OK now that I have said that I personally believe that unless they had a change of venue he was  headed for the same direction it ended up in..............No way--it was totally biased from the beginning..........I know in my heart he killed that young man even tho I wasn't there..........as I stated from the beginning...........Do I believe it is a racism thing? Oh yeah.............and I will tell you why at the risk of being flamed to hell. I lived in Dallas for well over 20 yrs.........in order to keep my dogs I mostly lived in Hispanic neighbordhoods cause the rent was cheaper.........barrios they are called and also because I am who I am. And I said that to say this, as a rule, the Hispanics and the blacks dislike each other very much. *I saw where they were calling him the White Hispanic.........I think he is bi racial, but he likes to be more white than what he is and I think those feelings led to this tradgedy...........Just some late night thoughts...............

joanro - it's called sarcasm; don't flatter yourself.

vonissk - there are prejudiced people amongst every race and in every venue. To crucify one guy without evidence because some of his race may dislike another race may be the ultimate prejudice.

Russia is gearing up for war BIG TIME.

Racism has been a way of life in the world since day one. It is so ingrained in our society that using racial epitaphs is generally accepted as okay. As far as  I know, there are no stats available, but I'm guessing that the percentage of black and Hispanic  residents of the US who are racists is about the same as the percentage of racists among the white population.

It's up to parents and educators to put an end to it.

Ok, now I get it, carlin. Let me guess....you a cop. And you're pissed because I didn't wait for you to do your work before I figured the guy would walk. Tsk, tsk. People do that all the time. Not a biggy. BTW, I never said the justice system failed. But that doesn't mean i have to like the fact that the guy gets to carry a gun again.
You're important, carlin. Society needs cops to unravel the mysteries of crimes. It's ok if want to flatter yourself, there'll be no objection. Seriously.

RS - I get a kick out of what comes out of Russia, particularly Putin. The opposition leader was just sentenced to 5 years in prison on what the international community is questioning as a possible attempt to removd him from the political equation. Reminds me of the 200+ journalists who mysteriously died or dissappeared after criticizing the Prime Minister. Once KGB, always KGB.

Blitzen - I agree. I think it may be natural to be inquisitive or suspect of anyone different from ourselves, but as you say, it's the nurturing, at home, at school, etc, where we learn how to deal with and approach our differences. The South, at least where I am is a pointedly homogenous society, and one that quite frankly doesn't readily embrace any kind of diversity. I grew up amongst a slew of different ethnic groups, and as kids, diversity was our reality.

Hmm. I don't think you get the main point(s), Joanro. It really isn't about you guessing right. You had at least a 50/50 chance of that. The issue seems to be, that under the FL law and the instructions that jurors receive, at least one Juror stated, they perceived there could be no other conclusion than what was decided.

That seems to me to be "the" problem, since if we are called to decide upon something, then there should be at least two choices available.

Bee, there is no point, that's the point. Carlin was freaking out because I said I didn't watch any coverage on the tv, that as soon as I heard the story, I said he'll walk....the law SYG would protect him. Who cares anyway? My guess was he'd walk, e did, and he gets to tuck his gun by his side and use it again if he wants. I couldn't give a shit. I'll never see him so I don't need to worry about him shooting me.

by beetree on 19 July 2013 - 12:07

Well, there is a point besides yours, that until now you have made crystal clear; you just don't care. And that's okay, your purpose for posting was to be right. And that is your right.  However, at this point it is debatable as to whom is actually freaking out or being alleged to be freaking out. It is getting a bit blurry for me! Wink Smile

If you were acquitted wouldn't you want to keep your guns? Maybe GZ actually will never want to touch a gun again? He could be horrified at what happened and never want to be able to repeat such a scene. But you don't really need to reply to this possible scenario I have conjured, as I know you don't care. Also, any one else can note: I am really addressing the unknown masses on the OT, at the same time I try to converse with you.
