The significance about your opinion is that it immediately discounts the opinions of the six person Jury who were accepted by the chosen lawyers for each side. I think the goal of these types of current events discussions is to gain more common ground. How to get there is always a bumpy road. The other significance is, it shows the hook being used to make this unfortunate death determination into a political and media event. I suppose Trayvon's parents would prefer their son's death stood for something that is a legacy for positive change. I certainly know parents who never acknowledge their kid's problem behavior. But I am just writing fiction, oh, that is also the significance of your opinion, it is like mine, mostly fiction based on some facts.
And I think it is unfortunate, but when guns are involved from any angle, their legal carrying and use by sheer ownership, whenever, should be necessary, or why have them? I think it is interesting that the NRA is the lobby force behind "Stand Your Ground". I think they are just opportunist bottom feeders who found their mouth pieces, with that legislation. The lawyers then could easily convince Trayvon's parents they could make him a martyr. That admittedly sounds much better than a simple description of "a black kid in a hoodie", an observation really, that becomes a loaded statement. Only because the one's hearing it, take it that way, because the media presented it that way. Listening to what the outspoken juror and alternate have recently said, that they both did not entertain race in viewing the facts, AT ALL would bear that thought out.
Even the fact we have voted in a Black President isn't good enough to be an end for the special blend of anger needed to raise mobs and riots. This, I think is the significance of the verdict denialists. IMHO
(PS: I love ya' Joan. You are the best trainer of more animals I've ever met over the internet!)

I'm only going to comment on your first remark. The media has NOTHING to do with my opinion. In fact I only heard the audio of the 911 call and I did not watch any more on tv cause I Knew what the outcome would be and I was right. So you're wrong again in plastering your hogwash across the page concerning what I think, don't think, how I think, or how I caome to the opinion I have. The rest of your post went unread by me, cause it's inconsequential.

Take your pick. Doesn't matter. I didn't waste time watching the sheet on tv, changed the channel every time it came on..but I still guessed the out come correctly.

Bee,
the NRA is people, tax paying citizens, just like you, sorta, kinda, they just see some things differently from you, and let the NRA represent them as one voice to stand up for what they believe.
They are not the only such institution in this country, they all lobby.
Moons.

You sure have it all figured it joanro. Why don't you go ahead and clue us all in on exactly what happened that night, since you obviously observed the whole thing. while you're at it, give us a quick breakdown of thr character assessments of both men and their families so we all have a clearer picture. Maybe at that point, we'll be ready for your exposition on where exactly the justice system and law enforcement went wrong in their respective arenas. I can't tell you how many times I have said "I just really don't know", while you seem to have all the answers. Why bother with an investigation or trial anyway. "Let's just hang him now, he's obviously a racist sociopath!" Can't for the life of me figure out why I didn't see it all along. Ridiculous.

Once again the media has fulfilled the desires of corporations and politicians, it has directed this country's attention away from the more important issues of jobs, health of the nation, environment, war, returning soldiers' needs, economy, government/corporate greed and misconduct, etc. Racism along with the other -isms are concerning and need to be addressed by intelligent discourse with access to accurate information, not the twisting and fabricating of facts. The timing of the "media circuses" is always interesting to me when I look at what else is going on in this country. We need to start calling the media out on its inaccuracies and unwillingness/inability to report real news as well as politicians and corporations for behaving like spoiled sociopathic adolescents unconcerned with the consequences and long-term ramifications of their behaviors.

Carlin, you seem very upset that I figured Zimmerman would walk the day the shit happened. Take it easy, I haven't impacted the judicial system. it's still up and running. Chill, dude.
