Viruses and disease are natures way of controlling our population and we just keep inventing new ways to fight it. I agree that technology in many ways allows us to bypass natural selection, but in the end nature will win outright.

I think in the end we will do so much harm to the natural world it will no longer sustain us.
We have the power to create our own extinction, and while we will change the natural world it will continue without us.

Following is obviously as hard as answering questions.
I sense a cat fight coming on...full moon madness.

Beetree, no I don't agree with your basic conclusion in saying
if we don't have perfection, we must have "That'll Do" or whatever.

How about just "IS"  ?

What we might both agree is 'perfect' about some seashell is our
opinion, it is not a scientific absolute.

Even where there is a mathematical formula to explain what it is
and why it is.

by beetree on 28 March 2013 - 08:03

Thank you Hundmutter for your candid response. That is exactly what I hope people will contribute. I am hoping a few more people are brave enough to venture their thoughts, just for the fun of it. Then I will give my rebuttal to you! ;)

Ruger1,
I am surprised you are surprised! My question to you would be, what DOES scripture say about, "perfection"? I believe it says something about how it relates to God's nature? Or was it. Jesus was perfect, because of God's nature? Please if you would, endulge me, if you can?

Moon,,As long as one understands the question it's easy...lol..BTW we never got a chance to finish our conversation on death,,If you ever feel like sharing your thoughts on it consider starting a new thread,,It could prove to be an interesting topic,,

Bee,My snippy comment was made in jest and was not directed only towards you ...In general the comments on this thread are hard to follow,,Kind of like saying lots. but not saying anything...JMO..That must be how you feel reading the threads I post to..lol...
And yes, It is taught in Scripture that God and Christ are perfect ....

by beetree on 28 March 2013 - 08:03

Ruger1,
Yes, I agree, I have purposely left some of those blanks, because I don't want to influence the opinion of "my" opposition with my thought directions. I am really just attempting to create that neutral ground for discussion, doing away with jokers on the left and the right, so hang in there. See, I really don't think it is wise or correct to think that the philosophy about existence is mutually exclusive with the science of existence. And that statement of mine, does not even acknowledge the spiritual aspect, yet. Guess what, I don't think the spiritual will be mutually exclusive, either, if we are talking about understanding the how our planet, our universe, ourselves, happened to get here, as IS.

Thanks for your comments on "perfection". Just wanted a validation at this time!
