Let the Games begin........ Spaetzle, I am sure the SV has more to do then to investigate your comments. Other investigations would make for a better story. Best of luck to all that show up for the BIG SHOW.

I don't think that ANY of us have EVER walked away from a conformation show without muttering "politics" under our breath at least once in our career! And I think that there are times when politics have favored me when they shouldn't have! If you can't bear to show your dog without a guarantee of coming in first, then don't EVER participate in a dog show. If you can't bear to let go of the notion of politics and really LISTEN to the critique the judge gives you, then stay at home. It all comes down to which dog is better on the day. Maybe your dog has the better conformation but lesser condition. Maybe it's blowing coat to the hilt. Maybe you haven't worked as much on muscular development. Listen to the critique, don't worry about the number. Go talk to the judge afterwards if you didn't understand. Ask what you can do to improve. If you can't do those things... then don't attend the show. There have certainly been times when I've ended up directly behind a Wilhendorf dog in a class and heard those dreaded words "On any other day, these placings could have been reversed...". But it wasn't "any other day", it was THAT day. And that's okay. Listen, ask and learn and you might find out that there's a lot YOU can do in preparation instead of just whine about politics. "Politics" the number one reason puppy mills use to explain why they don't show their dogs...this excuse seems to work for all breeds. There is something respectable about showing one's dog and not placing, or even finishing last. If a kennel conisistantly has nicely ring trained dogs, their dogs meet the standard and have a good day in front of the judge, well then...I'm sure many folks can think, "politics" was the reason why those dogs place or win. I see tons of dedicated hard work from the NE dominating kennel. Good work! My dog placed last in his class in Nashville...HUGE disappointment, since he was very well ring trained. He showed terribly that day, was having MAJOR jet lag, but we *still* showed. Came back to New England with my head hanging low, but still am happy to congratulate folks who deserve it. Someone always places 1st, someone always places last...CONGRATULATIONS to all who try. Sue-Ann
