Can somebody here give me their opinion on what's the best content on these two nutrients? Currently I am using a 25% protein and 15% fat dog food. I am thinking of shifting to 30% 20% content. The lifestyle of my dogs are active but not very active. Everyday for a total of 3 hours a day they're on a run and for 3 times a week about 30 min per session they're on a training, show training which is just running around with their handler. I live in a hot climate and I'm not sure if giving a high protein dog food would be better for them since high protein dog foods are much preferable in a cold climate region. Any ideas and opinion would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I would suggest that the protein/fat formula that you are feeding presently is just fine and even a little more than what you need. The 30/20 is too high for the level of activity that your dogs are currently at. That level of protein/fat is for dogs at a much higher working level or nursing bitches.

My dogs get about that much exercise as well, just to maintain. I feed a 26/16 diet and it works out perfect. I'd have to say stay with what your using, unless you see it not working. Dogs dropping weight or not enough energy etc. I occasionaly use a higher protein food or add some raw chicken, if I think they need something extra.

Chinito, I would stay with the food that you are currently using. The protein level sounds a couple of percentage points high, but if it is working well, then there should be no reason to change. Bob-O
