I have to agree being new to the boards I was worried about posting. But if you don't ask how are you to learn. Since I have been coming here I have learned a great deal and hope to keep learning.

I've never had a female shepherd before, only males and all of them neutered, so I thought maybe the answer was obvious to those who have more experience. That's why I thought maybe it was a dumb question. My other shepherd is an un-neutered male (first time also) so guess I wanted to make sure there was no chance of an accident by having a friend keep the female. The female has stopped spotting within the last few days. Based on what I have read around here, this is the time for extra caution. As one poster noted, maybe my friend's neutered male will be grateful for a bit of action with no consequences.

Yup my neutered male will try to get some every time. Before him I never witnessed this.
